1. So is this all we're doing? That talk about going big and aggressive in the trade deadline was just complete BS? In the end, we got the short end of the stick.

2. Why is everyone acting like they gave away HOF'ers? These were not top prospects. I will admit, it's a tad high for a rental, but nothing to cry over. Wagner is 26, that's old for a prospect, the pitcher they gave up doesn't have a plus arm, and the outfield is their deepest position in the minors, so losing one doesn't hurt them-by the way he was striking out 34% of the time-does nothing for you this year and in the playoffs

4. Loperfedo is overrated and doesn’t offer anything at the current moment that you can’t get from Chaz, Jake, or Pedro. 40% k rate and a 236 avg and he is 1 of 4 possible good not great choices to play outfield that the Astros had on their roster

18. Has anyone noticed how horribly Altuve's base running "skills" S U C K?? I am sick and tired of watching him commit suicide coming home from 3rd on a hard grounder to SS. Or running into tags. Or running into, and getting hit by ground balls.
    Altuve runs bases worse than my 7-year-old grandson!!! Altuve HAS to play better!!!

19. Has everyone calmed down now? Kikuchi is now our 3rd best pitcher that is stretched out enough to actually pitch into the postseason. Bloss, Blanco, Arrighetii are all about to say hello to their innings limit and then guess what happens? So yea, this move needed to be made. The price was astronomically high. But I'm not honestly caring too much about 2026, 2027, or 2028 right now. Our window shuts after 2025. I say fire sale the farm if it means getting one more ring. You can always tank and rebuild the farm. You can't always say you're a few games away from winning the World Series.

22. We've been saying that we need a starting pitcher and we knew it was going to cost big because we have a weak farm system. So I'm a little surprised with all the negative feedback. Blake's pitching was not ready for the big league, Joey was striking out too much, and Wagner wasn't working out either.

23. Everyone will forget about this trade if Astros win the division and go deep into the playoffs because the starting pitching was solidified with this trade. Everyone relax. Let it play out. A bunch of general manager experts in Houston need to apply with the Astros I guess.

    He passed the eye test for sure and will get better with time.

31. My issue with the trade is that Kikuchi is a rental for the next 2 months or so. If he had a year or two left in his contract, then it would be better. With that trade package, im pretty sure they could have traded for a pitcher with a few years instead of a few months left on the contract.

32. The Astros essentially got nothing out of this trade. They gave up something for nothing. Thats why fans are pissed.

34. Loperfido was a hole in the lineup. Bloss won’t make it Big in this league. 2 years they will be in the farm system for which ever team they are with at the time.

37. Desperation. This was purely a desperate move. Brown saw Seattle get big moves done, and the FO panicked. That's all there is to it. The Astros got rode hard and hung up wet.

46. Kikuchi has a 6.26 ERA in June and a 6.59ERA in July. He's never been a good 2nd half pitcher going back to his Mariners days. This trade appears to hurt our team more than it helps it!😢
