“I want to vomit every time I hear ‘number one wide receiver’ to be honest with you. It drives me crazy. That’s something that YOU guys talk about. I feel like we have a bunch of them.” Matt LaFleur

My puke is boiling
MLF cut Wilde off before he got into his usual 18 minute long question
The obsession with WR1 is weird. Why is it the norm to have one superstar with a significant skill gap between him and the rest? Defense just double teams him the whole time anyway. Would much rather have the talent spread around
The whole “ WR1 “ or “ DB2 “ trendy nomenclature used by normal people is annoying. You’re not a coach, and here we have a coach saying it annoys him too. Just stop.
My piss is about to start a fission reaction in my bladder.
“WE KNOW”—-every FF Manager with a GB WR last year.
Maybe the reason why they get asked this so much is because this team refuses to draft a WR with the draft capital that is usually necessary for most teams to have a WR1.
He’s right though – the concept of a ‘WR1″ is fan/media made. From an X’s and O’s standpoint they are referred to as X, Y, Z, F, etc in the playbook, and from a Depth Chart perspective you have up to 3 guys that are all considered starters.
