Best game belongs to 2014 ECF Game 6. Hank gets the Shutout and the Rangers get their first trip to the Stanley Cup Finals since 94! Now let's look at the opposite. What is the worst game since 2000?

  1. Soccer. No ifs ands or buts, can’t stand the flopping. Tim Stutzle must be of that background

  2. 2015 ECF game 7. Game 6 was so exciting, and that made game 7 hurt more. Especially with Hank’s game 7 stats

  3. 2023 round 1 game 7 against the Devils. Because of the high expectations and the fact that not a single one showed up to play. The only game I ever walked out of before it ended.

  4. 1000% 2015 game 7. Yeah the finals hurt. But the level of let down of seeing them come out so lifeless when on the verge of something so special just sucked

Extra bias points that my mom died 1/31/13. She and my dad were born and grew up in Chicago in the 30s and 40s and moved to Jersey in 1978 before I was born. They had a passing interest in the Blackhawks but really got into hockey when they were by NYC.

Seeing the Hawks blow it in 2013-14 and seeing us blow it the next year where I lost out on seeing a Hawks/Rangers final TWICE really gutted me

  5. 2017 round 2 game 6. Got goalied by Craig Anderson. My mom, a die hard rangers fan, died earlier that season. I’m not a religious person at all but if the Rangers won the cup that year I would have believed.

This was the day I learned there is no god.

  6. Game 7 vs Tampa in 2015. Shutout at home in a Game 7 the year we won the President’s Trophy

Edit: Honorable mention to Game 4 vs Buffalo in 2007 (our current GM tied the game for the Sabres with 7.7 left and then we lost in OT, putting us down 3-1 in the series). Also Game 7 vs Washington in 2009. Fedorov scored with 5:00 left to break a 1-1 tie. And Game 6 vs NJ in 2012

  7. This won’t win, but…

4/13/2006. 3rd to last game of the season vs Pitt. Rangers went into the game winning 5 of 8 and had 100 points and needed 1 win in their last 5 games to clinch the division the first year back from strike. Pitt was 21-45 and they dominated, going up 4-1 at one point. Rangers would lose their last 5 games, capped by the Devils comeback in a game vs MTL, and we would go from home ice in the first round to playing the Devils as the 6th seed and getting swept. If we’re talking about worst actual played game, this may be it.

Otherwise, my vote is for Game 7 vs TB in 15

  8. My vote has got to go to Game 5 of the 2014 cup final. I cant get Henrik laying on the floor in defeat out of my head, truly gut wrenching.

  9. Blowing a 3-1 series lead against washington in 09 and sergei fedorov scoring the gwg with less than 5 minutes left in game 7 stung me pretty bad as an 8 year old

  10. 2010 game 82 vs the Flyers. Winner advanced to the playoffs. Flyers win 2-1 in a shootout to end our season. They went on to the finals. Thankfully they lost to Chicago.

  11. 2015 ECF Game 7 For sure man. Nothing else even comes close. The finals hurts too but this. We demolished them in game 6 but in game 7 we’re just completely lifeless. If we won that game 7, the cup is ours for sure.

A bit more personal for me: My dad was and always will be a Rangers fan, as I was growing up I become one as well. Watched and kept up with everything Rangers related every chance I could. Lost him in November of 2014. With how the 2014 Final ends. That really hurts. We both love the Rangers, they lost that cup finals and I lost my dad few months after the pain was unlike anything I’ve ever felt. Then 2015 playoff run comes they had a deep run into the playoffs. First time ever watching it alone without my dad, extremely sad but I wish he was there to see it. Insane series against Pens, wild comeback against the Caps. This run was it, and then we ran into Tampa and that game 7 ECF. Some of the toughest years for me. Rangers lost the Finals in 2014, saying goodbye to my dad a few months after. Thought the 2015 playoff run will bring some life into me, but the disappointing finish and pain just adds on to the stuff from year prior. Really sends me into some deep depression. Took a while to find my way back. Almost 10 years past I’m doing a lot better now. Whenever I think back, just remembered all the good memories of the Rangers me and my dad share together, and reminds me everyday of what I love about this team and how they’re some of the best part of my life. He got to witness them in 94, I just hope that 1 day I get to experience the same thing as well in my lifetime. Love you pops, RIP. Forever a blueshirts fan! LGR!
