[Schoon] Watching Joe Hortiz work this year is like when we first saw Corey Linsley play for the Chargers. You expected improvement, but the leap into higher-quality work was so overwhelming it almost made you upset about what you were used to seeing. I’m happy…and also kinda angry?

  1. I think he is laying such a great foundation for this team. We may be a year away (although I’m optimistic about this season for a possible wild card spot), but he turned negative cap space into what we have today. It’s kind of insane.

  2. I understood what Tyler meant. You’re so used to seeing subpar GMing that when you see good GMing that you’re mad at the old bad managing.

Vast difference from Tom to Joe

  3. Can we really be mad though? Bc said trash is now in LV ready to fuck that job up or maybe get another playoff win in the next 10 years.

  4. Haven’t had a GM this good since John Butler. It’s refreshing to see! This team is going to be tough as nails

  5. JH the GM is putting in so much work in just his first year imagine a couple years from now

  6. Tbh I feel if we get a wildcard spot from this roster being well constructed and our coaching be great is good, but if we lose then we get more “chargers can’t win playoff games” even tho we did more than expected

  7. The ravens are one of best FO’s for a reason. Happy to see herbie potentially have a ravensesque infrastructure in the future

  8. Joe hortiz is working like how I would in a madden complete franchise rebuild. I’ve never seen a gm with this amount of transactions in 1 off-season it is shocking

  9. Joe Hortiz is CONSTANTLY working his ass off to bring in potential talent to help the team during his FIRST year as GM… Something we as Charger’s fans have never seen Coupon Tom Telesco do during his ENTIRE tenure with the organization. Comparing these two is like night and day. Raiders hired him because of his supposed KNOWLEDGE of the AFC WEST… Oooooohhhh boy.

  10. Remember a few months ago the narrative around this team was that we were fucked against the cap and overloaded with old, washed up players on horrible contracts.

Hortiz hasn’t just done a good job – he’s completely flipped the script over the course of a single summer.

  11. I guess all of us ‘haters’ who were calling for Staley and TT to go years ago were right, eh?
