Clay truly the GOAT
Holmes is the most unclutch closer I’ve ever seen.
2024 Yankees are just a bad late-inning team:
8 losses when leading in the 9th inning or later
Just 3 wins when trailing in the 9th inning or later
4-8 in extra innings
1 walk-off win to 6 walk-off losses
6-14 in their last 20 games decided by 2 runs or less
I don’t have the exact number but they are well below .500 when tied in the 7th inning or later
How many of those are because Holmes?
Wonderful company to be in. I wonder what shit stat they share with the White Sox?
Clay is going to single handedly ruin our best shot at a WS in 15 years
I’m really wondering what stats are driving them to keep trying with him
Closer we don’t need no stinking closer
but everything is fine, and he’s just been unlucky with soft contact. except for last night, when he walked two people and hung a slider that langford obliterated into the 2nd deck.
If I ever run into clay Holmes in person I’m going to jail for assualt.
Lmao we should easily have at least a 6 game lead in the division but they keep running out guys who are ineffective in multiple positions
That’s because Clay was never a closer. Yanks never found a replacement for Chapman.

Put Gila Monster in that role.
