Vikings WR Justin Jefferson on watching how the #49ers defended Garrett Wilson in week 1 to help prepare him for Sunday:

I can’t even feel any type of way about this. G5 has to earn that type of respect and attention.

  1. I’m not even sure if this was disrespectful. he is taller and more physical while wilson is smaller but a pinpoint sharp route runner with excellent hands and catch ability. They absolutely play them differently.

  2. I mean he isn’t wrong at all. Garret is talented and he can be a top 5 receiver in the league but JJ is on another level and literally is viewed as number one WR in the league

  3. Really need Mike Williams to show he can still play to take some heat off GW. Also Garrett needs to cut out some of the little mistakes to take that next step.

  4. I love G5 and he’s right. As of right now JJ is the clear cut better player, but I have a feeling Wilson is going to ball out big time this year.

  5. He’s clearly in the discussion for the number one WR in the league. Garrett has yet to put himself in that conversation, which isn’t necessarily his fault with our QB performance.

However, Garrett isn’t our offense. Breece is the 1A & Garret 1b. We also have better depth. Looking at the vikings, stop JJ and Stop the Vikings.

So yeah, teams will play both differently.

  6. If JJ isn’t #1 on someone’s “best WR in the nfl list” then his #2. GW is top 15 in the league but he’s got to prove himself as a big play threat before he’s on JJ’s level.

  7. Yes Garrett is a stud. But JJ is on a different level than every other receiver in the game. What he’s saying is simply fact.

  8. Football season. Where everyone sits at a table to discuss drama and debate as if they’re on The View.

  9. Garrett Wilson didn’t even execute a simple toe tap in week 1, and got bumped off his route when he should have been wide open for a TD

    He deserves this

  10. This was obviously NOT disrespectful and he’s right. Wilson does need to earn the right to be compared to the best – and he’d be the first to say so; given the class, respect & drive that he displays on the field & in interviews. Thru no fault of his own, even given all he’s done, Wilson’s rise has been slowed by poor QB play, shadowed by the Jets constant “we are great this year” boasting with no factual results to follow. 2024 is the same – until proven different – in that we’re all boasting that we’re a Super Bowl team when we haven’t even made the show in 12 years as the last seed. I LOVE Wilson, and I fear what others have said may come true – that be bolts this losing club upon free agency so he can build his legacy. That’s why we HAVE to win this year & must have a true professional, proven QB at the ready when Rodgers hangs’em up. J-E-T-S; Jets-Jets-Jets.

  11. Yall are crazy for thinking this is a slight. They play very different so they’re defended differently. Hes not shit talking lol, Garrett gets plenty of respect, in sure

  12. They are friends. I hate sports reporters trying to manufacture this bullshit. It’s made all these sports shows unwatchable for me.

  13. This guy last year, also with bad QB play from his team, came back from injury and put up Garrett’s statline from last year in only 10 games.

He is a completely different animal and has the ability to be legitimately the greatest receiver of all time.

  14. JJ’s making a solid point, Garret and Justin are completely different kinds of threats, so defense will handle them differently…… respect is earned and it’s the coolest to see JJ staying focused

  15. Wilson best days are still ahead of him. JJ prime is now. I’d wager end of the season they have similar stats.
