    Trade for what you believe to be a potential star , have no clue as to where he should be used with some really unproven wingers and gee when that doesn't work why be patient after you gave up villardi and see how this year goes.
    No why do that when you can get an over the hill goalie straight up for Dubois.
    Pure genius.

  3. I don't mind if the ad's hockey related (ie skate/sticks/helmet/other gear company)…so long as they're small and related to hockey… Just about everything else (not team related) shouldn't be there… Man…those Euro jerseys make NASCAR suits look like they're plain…

  4. what's he on his 4th team at the age of 26? Has any team hes been on happy with him ? His play away from the puck drove me crazy. Last guy coming back. lazy…his plus minus thru the years shows it all.

  5. Why didn't the interviewer follow-up after hearing PLD's response with, "are the Capitals clearly defining your role so that there is no disconnect after the fact possibly with them as well?"

  6. Not one single interviewer that I'm aware of asked Blake after the PLD trade sent him to the Caps, "were you and Todd initially happy with Fiala's 200 ft. game his first season? Didn't he exhibit deficiencies that needed to be worked on going forward? In a way, couldn't PLD improve upon his deficiencies going forward or were they so glaring and different mind you than the same deficiencies he had exhibited with his other clubs previously? If they were the same ones, then why trade for him to begin with?"

  7. They hire me as coach:
    Me: Hey Pierre, score some goals and get some helpers while you are at it. Also, use your size and puck control abilities to wear down the other team and get scoring chances, and have a lot of good possession numbers.
    PLD: Is that my role?
    Me: Yes
    PLD: no no too much grey area for me. I will just float around and produce little and not much else.

  9. He’s a center , he was supposed to battle for the puck , bring it up the ice , make plays . His effort stunk . He literally is vertical in every roll of the tape , he never hunkered down .

  11. If I could say one thing I guess positive about PLD , his point total when you consider it was in a nhl season without trying is impressive, that’s skill . If he cared ! Maybe he could be worth his contract.

  13. I remember watching him in Anaheim at the last Ducks v. Kings. Dude legit has minimal hustle and is a turnover machine. What were they thinking with that trade and contract?

  14. I always said the problem with PLD was coaching. A good coach gets the best out of his players. PLD was averaging over 60 points per season, that talent didn't just disappear.
