Fair question. And good answer. I don’t blame anyone for wanting to move on from him. But I hope they stick with Baldelli. I expect him to learn from this year and become a better manager because of it.
Great answer. If anyone expects fans to just keep cheering for no reason throughout the crap that they’ve put us through the last month, they’re kidding themselves.
Rocco is a real one. It’s been widely documented by Gleeman and others too that in private and off camera he’s much different than the passive guy you see on camera and on record. Casuals though just can’t get over trying to swipe the manager and take the low hanging fruit at every turn. I don’t agree with every move Rocco makes but as a fan you’re never going to. It’ll be a massive crock of shit if he gets scapegoated for this season.
Not going to lie thats an amazing response.
That’s my manager. I actually love Rocco, not quite as much as Gardenhire yet, but he’s a solid manager and has shown he can lead a successful team. The bullpen decisions need a little work, but no manager is perfect. He got hamstrung by ownership. Plain and simple.
My problem with him is he is too analytics based at times. I don’t think he should be fired after this year. It is fair to be on notice, and have some coaches let go. The base running mistakes just can’t keep happening.
8th wealthiest owners and 20th ranked payroll. They invest to this team like they WANT to miss the playoffs.
Rocco makes some questionable decisions but he is put in a hard spot with owners that throws him under the bus and gives him next to no tools to work with.
i’m team rocco. i don’t care where people wanna spread the blame, it doesn’t matter, but this team is clearly lacking studs. a frickin dawg, dude that shows up everyday. we got a few but buxton won’t be that guy, correa figure out your damn feet dude, julien/lewis/miranda/kiriloff/jeffers either have chronic injury issues or are just inconsistent for whatever reason. add kepler to that list although he’s good as gone. i’ll spare brooks lee for now.
you look at a lot of the young stars across the league and they are playing 140+ games getting lots of AB. we have TWO players in the lineup with more than 500 AB. hopefully walker jenkins can be that guy.
Rocco is always good for a quote. Shame he’s not as good at actually managing
I, actually respect that response. I still don’t think Rocco is the manager that’s going to take this team where we all want it to go but he’s not tone deff
Everybody, from ownership, to the front office, to Baldelli, to coaches, to minor league instruction, to the players themselves all have shares in this disaster, and trying to solely blame ownership lets all those others off the hook.
Rocco seems like a good dude. I’d love to have a beer while blasting some sick phish jams with the guy.
Not convinced he’s a great baseball coach though.
Doesn’t the training staff have to take some blame for this season as well? They seem to have the most games missed due to injury.
Baldelli is in box. A lot of this is not his fault however I don’t think I can disassociate this season from anyone on this team. So, start rebuilding I could care less who stays or goes, But , whoever stays has to be part of a better culture which values preparation including conditioning, fundamentals, scouting and personal development.
Good take
Good answer. Despite my feelings on his performance, rocco is a good dude
Baller response by Rocco here-and I’m not his biggest fan.
Yes but be careful.vthe owners and f.o. will cover their butts by sending Rocco down the road.
He will be fired, fall guy for 30m cut back season. Best part is, get ready for next year with a new coach turning a new leaf and the silver linings and on and on and on.
See, I buy this response. And I appreciate it, Rocco is good at taking accountability when he hears the boos from the fans.
❤️you Rocco
I hate him as a manager but I very much give him credit for this response
