  1. I get keeping Oli another year but Mo? Seriously…the architect of all the problems gets to stay and start the rebuild? I didn't go out for any games this year. We usually come our once or twice a year from OKC for the express purpose of seeing a game. As long as Mo is there, my baseball dollars will be spent in other cities. I will see the Cardinals on the road. No more of my money goes to DeTwitt.

  2. THERE IS ONE REASON you retain MO… he knows everyone in the league. If you're going to GUT the team, he knows who might want different players, he might be better to make the trades with the goal of getting the Cardinals down to about 50 million in payroll. Get ready and start not using the TERM BEST FANS IN BASEBALL… the Cardinal fans will prove St Louis are NOT the best baseball fans. They support WINNERS like most other cities… PERIOD! Additionally we're NOT a baseball town St Louis is a FOOTBALL town like every other city. Sucks baseball is our #1 sport because now St Louis won' t be a sports destination. I also feel bad for all those business around the stadium that depend on people coming downtown… that isn't going to happen now. Look for multiple business to CLOSE over the next few years. This rebuild will take 5 years maybe longer.

  3. I mean if they are going to do a complete rebuild for 2025 Oli might as well be the manager lol 😂?! If Mo is better at GM than Bloom…which I don't know man lol, but if so why not have Mo in the rebuild!? I don't like a complete rebuild man! Especially moving on from Helsley, Contreras, and Arenado! I understand trading Helsley yes, but how do you replace him down the road? Contreras was one of our best hitters, and catchers stat wise this season.

Arenado's power numbers were down yes, but he still had above average offense in most other categories for an MLB 3B. Plus Arenado's defense was ranked 3rd best defensive in the MLB with only Ramirez and Machado ahead of him defensively! Also, Arenado's salary is going to incrementally decrease the next 3 seasons to $21 million in 2025, $16 million in 2026, and $15 million in 2027. He's a hard guy to replace man!

Gray's contract is going way up, so I understand wanting to trade him in a rebuild season. I'm actually ok from a partial rebuild, just not full fledged. I would love to move on from Mikolas and Matz, wanted that for last season lol!

  4. Lifelong Cards fan, but keeping Moe and Marmol is ridiculous. They are no longer committed to winning. . They should have traded Goldy. Suck it up management, can Moe & Oli to get back on track to be a respectable team.

  5. I think we tried to make a go of it this season after last season. And while there was improvement, ultimately it wasn't enough and we will never be contenders the way we are. If we want to be more than a 500, middle of the pack team, then I think it's gonna take a whole rebuild. But I agree with you that it seems crazy to do that with all the same people in charge that got us into this in the first place.

  6. I could see Goldie, Contreras, and Arenado in Milwaukee. They would have to take less money but Contreras could play with his brother and the Lock on Brewers guy said be open to all three. I'm happy to go young. If your over thirty you are gone.

  7. I mean, if the cardinals are going to get rid of payroll and go with the "youngsters", what ends up happening when they slump? Just gonna end up consistently sending down some and bring up others to let your minor league teams fix them? This organization is turning into the biggest joke in baseball. Especially with Oakland now being over. They can't fix the players at the major league level and plan on focusing on a rebuild. Good luck! Plan on empty seats for the next few years as they constantly have the wrong management in place

  8. Well, I hope DeWitt's are prepared to foot the bill on an Empty Stadium Due to the fact that MO and Oli are returning in their current rolls. That isn't an improvement so expect the same if not worst for next year

  9. Well I guess they don't get I keeping
Mo an ol a loser getting rid of Goldy another loser an as for. me an season ticket holders we won't be returning another loser for them sad but I hope more will turn in theirs also really sad

  10. I was hard on mo an the front office but i do thnk most r over reacting they did admit there needed to b change and what they use to have success with was not working anymore and that they needed to improve to keep up so no matter how the words come off thats good enough for me i dont agree with most that things r way off we were basically a playoffs contender most of the yr the team as it stands 1b Burly 2b Donovan ss winn 3b arronado c contereas lf noot cf siani rf walker dh gorman with a rotation of #1grey#2pallante #3fedde#4mcgreevy #5mikolis/matz/free agent/ Thompson/and helsly as closer this aint a bad team the young guys could b bttr nxt yr and make a big difference so theres hope i agree with them we weren't that far away from postseason i thnk there is hope for nxt yr they move on from goldy lynn Gibson kittrigdge etc shed some payroll woopty doo thing's could b worse this team will b bttr now with them gone with the younger players playing a full yr people just need to give it a shot instead of always being negative go cards!!

  11. I'm done. I can't watch them on TV anymore because of the craziness with Bally and now, after two disastrous seasons they decide to keep the Ollie and Mo and get rid of Goldy. Been a Cardinals fan for a long, long, time. Actually took my honeymoon to StL to watch the Cardinals in 1976. No more. Maybe I will become a White Sox fan. At least we know they are terrible and have no way to go but up – and I can watch them on TV. The brass at StL has decided to "blow up" the team and start over. The Cardinals have been one of the top teams in attendance for as long as anyone can remember will now look like the Marlins or Rays when attendance is announced. I know one family that has centered many, many short vacations around the Cardinals home schedule that will be spending our entertainment dollars elsewhere. It takes 2 1/2 hours to drive from my house to Busch. It takes 2 hours 1 minute to get to Guaranteed Rate Field. Cheaper tickets, better seats, easier drive, and a team that actually values its fans.

  12. I'm fine with Mo working his way out & giving chiam room to work out development stuff. But what in the hell does Marmol got on Skip. Answer : Nothing. He's minor league coach. Changing him out with Skip would have satisfied the majority of fans. Arenado & Contreras have got to be pissed. Colorado all over again.

  13. The Cardinals are probably doing Goldschmidt a favor. Hopefully, he will be offered a contract by a legitimate contender and have the opportunity to play for a championship, something he never did in St. Louis or never would have had the opportunity to do.

  14. Mo has a big ego. He has been as great and as big as he is in his own mind. After Mo pushed Jocketty out it was Larussa that kept the team together. Larussa wasn’t a yes man either was Schildt which is why they are gone. They have progressively gotten worse and I really don’t see them being much better until the leadership who can’t lead us gone.

  15. I feel sorry for you J. D. You do a great job and deserve a better team to talk about. As a life long Cards fan I have checked out the last couple years. The smart people in the front office aren’t smart enough nor deserve to run this franchise. Need baseball people to run a team.

  16. I get keeping Mo as POBO next year. I have a feeling that some VERY unpopular moves are going to be made, such as moving on from Gray and 'Nado, maybe even Contreras. Definitely Helsley. Let Mo take the fan backlash from those moves. Give Bloom a shit-shield so that he doesn't get the same backlash that he did in Boston so that he can take over clean in '26.
Now, the one problem I DO see for next year, if they move on from all those stars, is How do you sell tickets? They need that revenue, even if they do massively slash payroll. If there's nobody the fans want to watch playing, how do you put butts in the seats? 2025 is looking to be a very lean year, from where I'm sitting.

  17. If Goldschimdt goes to the Brewers, they'll make him a solid bat again. And inevitably he'll hit 4 home runs and steal 4 bases every time he plays the Cardinals.

  18. Goldsmith has 1 bad year and GONE ! I think that is a mistake. Do not care about Conteras. Marmol back HORRIBLE. Moe staying again… HORRIBLE. I think they will cut Goldy, Contreras and Arenado.

  19. Marmol should decline, and look for a baseball job somewhere else. He performed a miracle in 2024 keeping this senior league team above .500 for the year, and he has a Division championship on his resume. Staying in StL under Mo/Bloom and this front-office's dysfunction will only devalue him in the future. He should leave immediately for a better situation. Goldy could wind up in Milwaukee next year, and Gray in Cincinnati — and both with added incentive every time they play the Cardinals. StL's fire sale this off-season will put the team below everybody else in the Division next year. Fans will stay away from the ball park even more than in 2024, and attendance won't be bolstered by so many corporate season ticket buyers. Great job, DeWitt.

  20. The point is, that competing simply to make the Wildcard is not good enough. The goal is to win a World Series. That means first of all winning the Division, and then going on to win the WS. Playing 500 ball with the hopes of the planets aligning in favour of a wildcard is not what Cardinal Fans want. Anything short of a World Series victory represents failure!

  21. I'm on board with that. The organization really needed to review his player development as they have either fail to produce player or couldn't get them to the level they were supposed to. So invest in player development overviewed by Bloom who did that with Rays and Red Sox.
This way the team doesn't need to patch holes with barely over replacement level and pay for it (Lynn, Gibson, Matz,…) instead of getting time for our prized prospects. You have then more payroll to get superstar to complement those good foundation and go for it.
