The Cardinals Quinn Matthews is the LHP selection for the prospect first team, and the Red Sox have three players on the first team. Here’s hoping the Cardinals farm system will be producing the same results in the coming years.

  1. If Chaim does anything, he will improve the farm system. I’m extremely confident in that. He took over the Red Sox when they per MLB pipeline, and they had the 25th best farm system. The following year, there is not much change in the 24th. The year after than 11th and then 7th going into this season. He built a great foundation for them.

  2. There are definitely a couple intriguing arms on the farm. Hopefully they catch the front end of this development project before they’re thrown in the fire and flame out.

  3. Looking forward to him pitching for us at some point next year. Now let’s hope JJ Wetherholt continues to hit and we might have something cooking here shortly.

  4. Whatever they did/do in TB re: pitching should be implemented and honed for the Cards system

  5. I’m optimistic because I like Bloom. He’s finally a voice from outside the organization and he should make our player development better.

I’m pessimistic because the Dewitts still own the team.

  6. I really do think better days are coming. Changes are for sure coming for better or worse but the farm should improve under Bloom they’ve already got a decent core of players. If they can give them some quality help in the next couple of years and get better coaches then this team could get back to it’s winning ways. Personally I want them to go somewhat old school. Get back to Whitey Ball and focus on pitching and having athletic position players. Winn and Scott II are a good start. You can have a few guys like Walker and Burleson in the middle of the lineup but add some speed to this roster. The Dbacks showed us last year that speed can still win in today’s game.
