13. I am a long time Met fan , but I do not want to get to cocky !! The Phillies could come out tomorrow and win 12-3 then take the next 2 games at Citi-Field and end it in 4 games. I would hate to see the Mets lose both games at Citi Field. Lets Go Mets !!

15. I'm a Met fan so it was fun to watch, but this game was an excellent example of everything that's wrong with the modern game. The ridiculous obsession with pitch counts loses games in the post season. How many times does that lesson have to be learned? Wheeler was unhittable and should have had himself a complete game shutout. It's October, and he's a grown man… if he's feeling OK, let him throw 140 pitches. It's not like he has to save his arm for all those starts in December…there aren't any.

22. I’m a Mets fan, but the whining here is so annoying. It’s good that people point out the weak spots. First of all, it’s good that the Mets are seen as the underdog; better that people don’t see them coming. And make no mistake, this team DOES have weak spots. It’s hard to win when you continually fall behind, and fail to score early, especially in October. At some point, you want to see them jump out to some big early leads. Also, the Mets have one of the best one-run records in baseball (maybe even the best, need to check the Guardians’ record), which is usually the result of having an elite bullpen—but we all know the Mets don’t have an elite bullpen. If they did, they wouldn’t be asking David Peterson to do his best 2019 Patrick Corbin impersonation. The Mets’ rotation doesn’t miss bats, and rely on inducing weak contact. We’ve seen that hurt guys like Severino recently, because sometimes those balls fall in for hits that lead to runs, including in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago, and it nearly cost him in Game 1 against Milwaukee. They’re not perfect.
