So what happened to George spinger😮
i say attach a prospect with him when trading him or place on waviers and see who will claim him
he problem is they have george springer
He had a few good seasons here. He's past his prime. $hit happens
George is still a great outfielder and bench bro to all the jays players. And with a new hitting coach he will get back to hitting like George can hit. It's mostly his discipline on the outside pitch.
Most of the jays had a bad season not just Springer plus Atkins and Shapiro making really bad trades
the thing that keeps me hoping is that he's been very healthy the past 2 seasons, maybe there's something left in the tank for 2025? Maybe a trip to driveline this offseason?
Yeah well George is 35 yrs old now, hardly a kid in baseball terms. Played well in the field and contributed 19 Hrs. He's not the hitter he once was for sure, like most his age, but all in all he did his part for a lousy team. However, IMO i think he needs to be hitting down in the lineup next season.
George had good second half. Keep George. He is a core value player and strong clubhouse leader. Kent
Regression is normal the problem is with the people who have not helped with getting him (and the rest of the team) out of the slump…that's on the coaching staff and not being able to communicate in a positive way that if he wants to hit better then do this and the only person who is not a permanent full time coach that has the ability to do this is EE he is the proof that 'hey you want to hit more home runs then you have to do it this way' and then a star was born…how about Bautista, he is well balanced using both logic and creativity. ****I like Springer in the outfield he is one of the best; better than Juan Soto. This way we keep our good defense by adding one home run hitter in the left field and get Teo as our DH – our coaching staff may work well with some players just not everyone…the thing is we should only need one hitting coach with an assistant that takes what the hitting coach says and works with those needing the help. It's important that the assistant carries out the specified process. ***George is a perfect fit with this team…there are not a lot of good outfields available that is a cost effective choice and we still need defence….
Jays are still on the hook for his salary regardless of how he plays.
Looking at Blue Jays team stats for 2024, I was surprised to see that he still managed to lead the team in stolen bases.
Checking his stats again: Springer was 2nd in hits, 2nd in home runs, 3rd in RBI, 2nd in R, and 2nd in BB.
Pretty much the entire offense was horrible. Springer has definitely regressed some, but looking at all of the Jays players, he's also following the pattern of the rest of the team.
If the Blue Jays' new hitting coach brings a new approach and can change the culture by focusing on fundamentals instead of overreliance on analytics, perhaps Springer's performance will be more acceptable – although he will never have the kind of numbers he had in the past.
He’s done, he may improve slightly but his all star days are gone
They Jays have an EVERYTHING problem… Management, coaching, star players whining, no depth in the bullpen, inconsistent defense & offense, the farm system is weak… dreadful times ahead in Toronto.
Good Lad. Management will be keeping a close eye on him. Spring training to make some adjustments? I believe George is done. I'd buy him out right now, to clear a spot on the 40 man roster. Thanks for sharing. I have to keep reminding myself, that I don't sign the cheques.
I like George but…..I think he's close to done n eat some of that contract n trade him
Plus everyone has had a bad month. Springer dinger has came back
you see how guillermo martinez can ruin everything, i've been screaming it for 3 year's and the first year springer was here he was injured, remember he was hitting off one leg in 2021, maybe we we could have a playoff win or two
I think George is past his prime, but we should keep him and put him in the 6 spot. I like the guy, he is fun to watch and brings great defense and good energy.
George Springer contract might be looking bad to some people but it’s not the worst contract in Baseball. Here is a list of contracts that have been way worse over the last two years
Jacob DeGrom
Anthony Rendon
Mike Trout
Patrick Corbin
Javier Barez
Carlos Correa
Nolan Arenado
Kris Bryant
Giancarlo Stanton
Stephen Strasburg
Carlos Rodon
Ryan Pressley
Craig Kimbrel
Anthony Desclafani
Taylor Rogers
Rafael Montero
I feel like at this point in the "process", he was meant to be a veteran on a team led by Bo and Vlad, a guy who has that playoff experience and poise to get them over the hump. However, the GM/Manager are utter fucking we-tards, so they fucked the entire organization worst than Ed Norton got fucked in American History X.
So. He. Next. Can u. Stop. Stop. Can. U give a. Rest. Please. First. It’s. Not. Bo. Or. Vlddy. So. Stop. 😊
Nd. Can u. Stop beening the gm. Of this. Team. Please. Really get a. Really job. U will be blamed. If we lose. The jays. 😊
Atleast he still hit above 200 half the guys on the team couldn't even do that Atkins isn't the guy to rebuild for the future the guy couldn't even build an outdoor outhouse springer may rebound hopefully he can hit Atleast 240 next season better than half the stiffs who are on the team at the moment
George is awesome. And so called Bluejays fans are being horrible to him. So tired of it. Beyond popular belief George isn't the only reason our team sucked. Far from it.
