  1. Not good news at all. Noticed Andy Pollin suggest nearly immediately after he left the field that those pec injuries are usually season ending.

Don’t have a medical degree so not sure how right he was. I know him and Payne haven’t been heard from lately, but I still would prefer having them out there every down. This sucks.

Dline gets worse no matter how you spin it

  2. That’s a brutal blow. Felt like the defensive line had been finally starting to put it together before this week. Need Newton to stay healthy now

  3. As soon as I heard “pec injury” I had a feeling this was where it was going. Next man up

  4. No matter how much fans wanna shit on him.. the dude is a critical piece of our defense. Eating double teams for our lbs to get lanes.. taking up space.. whatever. He was also just starting to play better too. Big loss.

  5. I figured this was the case when they ruled him out immediately for the game. Might be his last game as a commander. Sucks ass. Time for newton and Mathis to show up

  6. JA hasn’t lived up to his contract but he’s still our second best DT and a good player. Feels like he gets a ton of hate and I just don’t get it. Newton and Mathis have been getting plenty of snaps in the rotation and now we probably need to bring up a nobody to fill the rotation. Heal up JA

  7. he was balling too. One play he ran down the line with a crazy head of steam and made the play

  8. Had flashbacks of Orakpo’s pec tears. Knowing this was likely his last year anyway he’s probably played his last snaps in a Washington uniform.

  9. Well that sucks for 2 reasons. One being it hurts are depth. 2 we can’t trade his ass now.

  10. Looks like the window to get a 2nd round pick + more for him is officially closed.

Hope he can fully recover for 2025.

  11. Really sad. 6M dead cap if he’s cut next year, 23M of cap if he’s on the roster. I think this may be the end of the line for a player who’s given his all for us in bad times.

  12. Man that sucks. I love J Allen and I think he was a great leader these past couple of years. And I really do hate to say this but we should have traded him in the beginning of the year. Sadly he hasn’t played up to his contract and now with the injury his value goes down. Hope he heals up.

  13. Anyone who says it’s not that big of a hit to the defense or he’s not living up to his contract, does not understand defensive schemes. My man eats double teams every play and continually sets up other key defensive players to make big plays.

  14. This a big hit to our alr lacking interior D line… hope he has a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

  15. Sucks but he might be done to be honest. He looks broken. He’s played a ton of high level football going back to his college days. I know he’s only 29 but he’s an “old” 29 if that makes sense.

Kinda wish we traded him but hindsight is 20/20 and it made sense to keep him as a culture guy at least, but the dude has been a ghost all year.

Hoping Newton and Big Phil can step up.

  16. What a real shame… was hoping to trade him at the deadline. Maybe we can get Payne out of here.
