  1. Hi Nuckhead! Hope you’re doing well. I wanted to leave a message of appreciation for you and the work you create.

A friend of mine who’s been a hardcore Canucks fan for his whole life (and a Nuckhead fan since Game 3 of the regular season) got me to start watching the Canucks in their playoff run last season. At first, and for most of my life, I had no idea about anything to do with hockey – I was completely clueless about the rules, the players, and anything about the Canucks’ history beyond the fact that they were not very good for an extended stretch prior to this season. As I kept watching and getting more invested, I wanted to learn more about the players and intricacies of the game, but I didn’t know where to start. That was when I discovered your channel.

Your humour, storytelling, and genuine positivity drew me in immediately. As I kept watching the catalogue of work you had built up throughout the season, I started to understand the tactics and plays contributing to the overarching storylines present in each game. The players’ names, numbers, and unique characteristics became familiar to me thanks to your memorable descriptions of them and the features you did on players. I don’t fit into any of the descriptions of a “traditional” hockey fan (other than being Canadian lol), but I fell in love with this sport and watching this team play, more than I ever thought could have been possible.

Most of all, I got a sense of how special this season truly was as the one that brought playoff hockey back to Vancouver and revitalized the fanbase’s (and seemingly players’) belief in the organization. You helped me understand what hockey means to Vancouver, and just how much this sport means to people around the world. Even after the Canucks ultimately fell short, I knew that you would be able to articulate all the reasons why we should have optimism and hope for next season, where both you and the team will continue to build on what you’ve accomplished this past year. Your work was one of those reasons for optimism – one of the contributors that helped fans have fun watching the Canucks again, and one of the things we can look forward to next season.

I haven’t been a part of the Canucks fanbase for long, but I know that I won’t stop loving this team anytime soon. Your passion for the Canucks, and the work it drives you to create, is representative of what makes Vancouver so unique as a hockey market. When you spoke on one of the Nuckhead podcast episodes about your journey as a creator, it resonated with me as well. Please, continue being creative and putting your work out to the world for as long as it’s something you want to pursue. For every Canucks fan who’s been refreshed by your work as a breath of fresh air, and every fan of another team that you’ve convinced to develop a soft spot for the Canucks, there’s someone like me who’s been encouraged to become a fan of hockey because of people like you. I’ve watched every Canucks game since those playoff games, and hockey has brought so much joy, connection, and community into my life – I might have given up on trying to understand it if not for all the care you put into your work.

I can’t wait to see how the season plays out, and how you choose to tell the Canucks’ stories this year. Thank you for making creative, hilarious, and compelling work that says what all of us Nuckheads know: the Vancouver Canucks are good!

  2. Cup Contender?
When Demko comes back and we add a TOP4 D Man and i dont believe Brannstrom is it
Hes our Depth d man but hes a great puck Handler
Probably Third best on the D
    Peteys confidence is way down
He passes when hes supposed to shoot and vice versa
    3-2 Florida OT or SO
3-2 Vancouver against Philly OT or SO
3-1 Van vs Chicago but Bedard will get a point for Chi

  3. Why we haven't traded Pettersson is beyond me. He's done nothing his entire career and we are paying him near 9 mil a year!?
HES NOT EVEN ON THE FIRST LINE.
Get rid of Petey. I said it. I'm done being patient with him. He is useless. Can't check, can't skate, can't score goals. Useless.

  4. that JT miller hit is a boarding penalty in other leagues.. I dont think there was ill intent, JT prob. misread situation, but hitting people with such force that distance from the boards is always very dangerous

  5. I am so happy Kevin Lankinen is with the Canucks! As a fan of the SM-Liiga team HIFK, my favorite hockey team, a team Lankinen played for before making it to the NHL, I am really happy he now plays for my other favorite hockey team. I hope Lankinen does a great season with the Canucks so that he can stay in Vancouver for a bit longer. 🙂

  6. Im not too worried yet but I'm ngl, definitely starting to get a little concerned about demko. it would be nice to not worry about our goalie being injured for a change.
