1. I agree with your assessment. I turned the sound off because some of the crap Bill Spaulding was spewing made me want to throw things at the TV. But yeah, another spectacular night in the dot by Jack. How this kid is centering their top line, is insane to me. I know…but whatever. Carolina did what they have done to us, tight checking, pinning us in our D zone and wearing out the Devils all over the ice till they can score. Our upcoming opponents will view this tape so the Devils will need to find an answer. Its a DIVISION game….4 point one, like we used to call it back in the day.

2. This fanbase is more over reactive than a reality tv show cast. A lot of bad today but some great things to build on- hopefully this is wake up call that you cant just check your way to wins, gotta win individual battles. Jack looking like Jack, Timo playing 200 feet and a damn good job at that, nico looks like hes gonna win a Selke, marky did marty things, kovy is a stud, casey for calder.

3. The 2nd lines were solid, stick with it

5. Let’s bounce back against Ottawa. It such that the Canes beat us but it is what it is. The team did better than i anticipated tbh

6. I’m beginning to think it’s a culture problem with this team. The Head Coach was the last excuse that they had, and now I’m wondering about the core leadership here. TF, just may have to make a soul shaking trade here, because 6 games in, old, bad habits are beginning to resurface, such as being ill-prepared, avoiding physicality and an overall lackluster performance. Maybe it takes time to break these nasty habits, but this game caused my PTSD from the last 12 years, to return.

7. Until the Devils prove they can play against a rugged forechecking team the Devils won't be considered a cup contending team period.

8. Hamilton showed his inability to play hard nosed defense. He gave up on a few plays. If you ain't gonna score or assist on goals then you better contribute in some way. Love Kovacevich!!

9. Rod was warrior during his hockey playing days and so is his team now. Devils play pee wee hockey

10. So sick of losing to the Canes, I generally don’t care as much about games this early but this is a team the boys gotta figure out at some point.

12. I’d imagine this is palat’s last season as a devil. His cap hit has a direct impact on our forward group. That 6million could be used for a true top 6/ mid 6 forward to complement our top players. Unless they make the playoffs and he’s a true leader and performer, i’d assume palat is going to be moved soon

13. Nothing has changed from last year except for the new guys on the roster. You can't teach how to win. You have to be a winner. I don't see it so far.

14. I hope Keefe gets the boys a bit more consistent. I think he will.

    It is still mad early. I think everybody still has some ptsd from last season.

    I wanna see them string together three or more wins in a row a few times this year, at least

15. Not a pretty game, but they battled. The easily get steamrolled this game last year. They're still tweaking things and figuring out the top 6 (doesn't help that they only had 1 preseason game together) this is the first time in a while I'm not worried about the team. I will say tho… Casey and Nemo are not a good pairing and Palat drags down any line he's on. I think Nemo becomes a healthy scratch. Pesce plays with Casey until Luke gets back and then run 11/7 with Casey as the 7th dman and Nemo in the press box until and if Casey starts to struggle. I was all for Sieg being moved but he's been solid so far

16. 2nd half of a back to back, plus we traveled to a fully rested and motivated Carolina team. Not the first time we were screwed by logistics. We need some work, and need to hit the weight room a little more. But I am not worried. Markstrom was AMAZING. Hughes scored his 1st goal. Maybe, he will start scoring a bunch now. Plus, we are still 4-2. That's a win percentage of 66.67%. This puts us at 108 points, which puts us in a playoff spot.

17. Not going to complain too much, our record is ok. But if we are to be "contenders" then we need to beat contending team. It can't be all smackdowns against the Sabres, Caps, Utah, etc.. We need to be stepping up against the best of the best. Otherwise forget it. But it's still early, let's see what we can do.

18. Not a good game by us, but carolina once again benefits greatly due to schedule issues. Weve played 6, just played back to backs in 2 nights which equals their entire season. Dumbass scheduling to start the year

20. The 4th line looked absolutely abysmal.. palat on the 4th line is crazy forn6 min and im not a fan of bastian at all would rather seen a halonen on this team

    Found your channel during the preseason and I think it's great. A lot of times you are spot on!

    Grew up with the Elias, 00/03 Devils so we got that in common.
