  1. Yeah that’s hard to say but I would move Masa first please keep Wilyer in a heart beat normally a player like that has a awesome 2nd season like Duran did maybe give up maybe Whitlock to sweeten the deal IDK something to think about

  2. I really like Rooker but he's a 30+ year old hitter that will cost a lot. I think I would rather go after a Robert if you are going to give up this much you would ultimately be a better fielder, faster, younger, player for probably around the same amount of trade value given Robert has been injured and had a down year when he was healthy. Robert has way more upside and younger so if I'm going to steal from the farm then I'd rather go that way. I don't know if we should even think about this cause our offense was ok and we could add a Teoscar if we want a right-handed power hitter without having to give up anything. I think if we have going to hurt the farm then you do that for pitching, a thing you don't have on the farm.

  3. Great topic, I think Yoshi and either Abreu or Duran need to be traded to accomp,is the goal of a more balanced line-up. I still think waiting on Bo or Vlad makes more sense, more money but more sense. If I'm trading Abreu or Duran, as you stated, playing GM, I'm targeting Painter Graves and McFarlane from Philly which may cost Duran Whitlock and Kutter. 2. Kirby is another target with Duran and Possibly Rafaela headlining that package. 3rd. LAD Abreu Whitlock and Hamilton for Miller the injured Stone and either Ferris or River Ryan. I would also target Euery Perez. I see Euery as an ACE. This team is a possible playoff team but not quite WS contenders. Trading a Mayer Montgomery package for Euery along with 2 LL prospects should not just Euery, who is coming off TJ surgery but also set the stage fore Luzardo or even Garrett. If Breslow could find a way to keep Teel Campbell Anthony and Grissom and get a Euery Perez and B Garrett deal done to go with Giolti Bello and Houck, thr rotation is great and now Sox could trade Yoshi for a closer like Hader and Abreu for a Rooker. A Duran Devers Story Casas Rooker Teel/ Wong Grissom Campbell Rafaela lineup looks very scary with plenty of money to go after Vlad or Bo to put the finishing touches on the lineup while having monster pitching depth with Fitts Priester Dobbins Wilenman Perales and the 24 draft class of Toole and company right behind these kids. The BP of Liam Fulmer (Hader?) Slaten Guerra with Penard Kelly Wink Weissert Mata and Bernardino fighting for the last spot if Breslow targets Minter Scott or even Chapman. Scott would likely Close so maybe Yoshi for Hader is an expensive move for Hader and maybe he gets another package that fits in July if Chapman is also added.

  4. I would not put Medroth in the deal. He is a right handed contact guy. I would be very reluctant to trade nim. I would rather move Gonzalas or Sogard or Valdez.

Masa is the key to everything. I think it is almost impossible to move him to at least spring training to see if he is healthy. Having Rooker instead of Yoshida would be a good move. Can Rooker play first? If he can, it would make him more valuable even if it i just average. Eventually, Devers will need to be the DH. 3 years would be a good time line. But, how will it affect Campbell? Both Grissom and Campbell could be on the opening day roster is nothing happens.

  5. I don’t get why strikeouts are so worrisome. If an at bat results in an out 7 out of 10 times (and this is considered excellent), isn’t this better than grounding out and potentially causing a double play? Strikeouts aren’t a concern to me as long as power, patience and/or average are solid.

  6. Rooker and lefty bullpen horse TJ Macfarlane for Wilyer Abreu, David Hamilton, and Kyle Teel. You clear out a lefty bat, you trade from depth (middle infield), and you trade one of your consensus top prospect who has the lowest ceiling of any of them. You shore up the bullpen and add solid power to the lineup and all players involved are light on the budget.

  7. He would no doubt be pitched differently, if he could adapt to going to all fields it would help. Are his home runs line drive or towering? I might look at Teoscar first. But Dodgers may offer a QO. Still wonder if Breslow will avoid players with a QO.

  8. I'd 100 percent would want Rooker on this team. Abreau and one of the Garcia brothers and possibly a pitcher should make it happen! I would like this to happen for sure!

  9. Brent would be a nice fit. You forgot about how this trade would inpact Rafaela+Refsynder. How much do the RS need a power hitting right-handed player? Maybe a lesser right-handed backup 1b/dh would be easier to swallow? Trading away Yoshida's contract won't be pretty!

  10. A few comments: 1) When I saw Rooker's spray chart, I remembered how much I admired Frank Howard '68-'73 and wondered what it would take to get him to the Sox. 2) Fixing the Sox means we can't clog our lineup with too many players who are non-athletic. We'll have some real athletes coming up with bat speed, foot speed and good defensive instincts. The team is changing for the better! Can't keep both Masa and Rooker. 3) As we consider trading from our wealth of young players, we shouldn't be shy… we're sitting on a pot of gold… let's be careful to get the right players/skills/attitudes back.

  11. You had me starting to like this idea, but the fielding issues, and the uncertainty of the track record have me not liking it now. I like the Yoshida-for-Arenado idea a lot better, still, even if the Sox have to include a lot of cash in the deal.

  12. Hey Corbin, great take.. I had forgotten about Rooker… Although I hate to give up on Abreu mainly because of his defense, it's a move that might interest the A's… The other part is O''Neill, he has more defensive help then Rooker, and you would only to give up on Yoshida and not Abreu to keep him…

  13. Great Player, even a better person. He stayed at one of my friends house when he played in the Cape Lge. Rooker and my Nephew text each other during the Season. He loves the A’s, but he’s also a Sox Fan, and wanted to come here only because of the trade talks during the past Season. I think it was the Sox and the Rockies that were most interested in Brent. Would love to see him here. Our Outfield is already a strong position with us, but we need another Right handed bat
