Detroit Pistons’ Sloppy Win: Can They Clean Up Their Act?

Detroit Pistons Secure Sloppy Win Over Brooklyn Nets: Can They Clean Up Their Game?

The Detroit Pistons, led by Cade Cunningham, managed a 106-92 victory against the Brooklyn Nets despite a shaky performance marked by turnovers and poor shooting. With Cunningham’s turnover issues persisting, averaging over five per game, the team faces challenges ahead. However, Jalen Duren’s impressive second-half comeback, contributing 13 points, 17 rebounds, and three blocks, showcased his defensive prowess. The Pistons’ veterans, including Tobias Harris, Malik Beasley, and Tim Hardaway Jr., played crucial roles in securing the win.

As the Pistons prepare to face the Los Angeles Lakers, followed by a series of potentially winnable games in November, the team looks to improve its record. Will the Pistons tighten their gameplay and capitalize on upcoming opportunities?

Tune in to explore these key discussions and insights into the Pistons’ evolving strategy and player dynamics.

  1. Cade plays slow and much too loose often. His passes are lazy and he doesn’t do a good job of setting the offense for team success. He gets his in isolation and doesn’t create for the team. In the positive note, his mid range has become a bit more consistent but he has A LOT to improve on in order to make this team successful and to become an all star

  2. Two points1.) Cade has to fix the TO issues. No excuses. 2.) Duren still looked lost. To many TO, turned over the ball multiple times and shows limited effort. Don’t think Stew is the answer long-term but I’m not giving Duren an extension. Period.

  3. Cade still doesn't get any respect from the refs! I think the criticism of the Pistons should be moderated a little because they have a lot of new parts and still need time to gell together!

  4. I'm all onboard when people criticize Cade for his turnover issues, but they lose me completely when they try to pretend Jaden is any better.
Ivey is .7 of an assist away from creating more shots for the other team than his own (turnovers). Those numbers put him in the exact same space as Jalen Green, and no one is trying to make Jalen Green the point guard in Houston, ever.
These two can't start together if BOTH of them are going to cough up the ball like this all the time.
Ivey can't "run" a team when Cunningham sits down if his level of creation for others is going to be on the same level as Jalen Green.
And now we get back to what Monty was trying to tell y'all last year.
Or I guess we can blame this coach as well.

  5. It’s not only the fact that the turnovers are happening but some of the turnovers look absolutely laughable. Just mental lapses and lazy passes
