As a born and raised Rays fan, Tampa is where the new stadium should be. This will be a good taste
Unpopular opinion: Invalidate all home run numbers and potential records for teams playing in minor league ballparks.
Here’s the thing about the Rays. The current stadium is a logistical nightmare for most people who live in Tampa to get to. I live in a suburb and its 90min+ for me to get to the Stadium on a Saturday afternoon. For a weekday game against rush hour? No chance.
Them actually playing in Tampa will make it so much easier for me to go that I will probably go to a bunch more games next year now.. so this is pretty great news.

Logistical? This is an ideal location and people are going to be thrilled to go.
It’s certainly a better stadium than the Rays play in. People always talk about how terrible Tropicana Field is but I assumed it was overblown until I went there 2 years ago. It’s actually worse than I imagined. Certainly the worst stadium in the mlb. The good thing was I was able to get good seats right behind the visitors dugout for surprisingly cheap. The same tickets in nyc would have been like $750 I imagine and I think I paid like way less then $100. The rays deserve better.
