That’s a targeted spot that I used myself when I played, he cross checked Hughes below where the shoulder pads end (mid chest) that cross check hit him in the side of the ribs, and it hurts like hell. And refs never see it because your shoulders stay low. Most people don’t know that hockey players abs and ribs are exposed under our sweaters. Back of the ankle, below the pants pad and just above the knee pad, top of the skate (foot), wrists, under the arms, and lower back above the pants pads, but you gotta get an angle on it. Oh, and the gooch is always an option 😊

As a NJD and Hughes fan i wouldn't say it was exactly necessary for the hit although i understand the checking happened but things happen in the moment and the guys go at it but it's not like it was a gloves off situation so I think people really need to cool it with the Hughes hate in this comment section especially when the Panthers themselves can also get a bit heated with players and he got a penalty for it not like it went unnoticed ,but it's funny how when Hughes does something people wanna give him sh!t for it and wanna downplay how good of a player he is and say he's throwing a "tantrum" but other players will do the same and it gets said that "that's part of the game"

33. I do not see the of similarities between zegrass and Hughes at all. Other than they're both around the same age. Zegras is an absolute tool bag. Jack's actually a pretty nice guy and respects a lot of players. But he's not going to sit there and let people pick on him. He's going to say something. He's going to do something . I think the biggest thing between Hughes and zegras is when Hughes does something. It's more of a retaliation or a response
