Skenes/Chourio/Merrill…… Who You Got?

  1. Merril but there’s an argument for Skenes. Chourio looks good but he’s not going to win it

  2. I want it to be Merrill, and it probably should be, but I feel like everyone got caught up in the Skenes hype and he’ll end up winning it.

  3. I think skenes should and will get it, could make a case for Merrill, Chourio seems a distant 3rd.

  4. Based off of actual baseball I’m going with Merrill, but I feel like it’s gonna be Skenes bc of the Livvy Dunne effect

  5. Playing 156 games at a premium position that he’s never played before, and playing it at an all-star level, all the clutch hits, .292 average, 24 hr. It HAS to be Merrill

  6. Merrill, but if this was a few months ago, Skenes would’ve been a lock…for a unanimous vote. Skenes fever was running rampant (for a legitimately good reason – he had a dominant year).

  7. It’s has to be Skenes. If a cy young finalist as a rookie can’t win it, who can? Merrill is great, Skenes was really a one of a kind year.

  8. Merrill. Pitchers should have their own RoY awards. Feels wrong to have to snub someone who plays 150+ for someone who plays on average 30 times a year.

And inversely, feels bad to snub a good pitcher just because they only get to start around 30 games per year.

  9. Merrill. I’d love for the pirates to keep Skenes a few more years. Not a pirates fan, but they drafted him and need him. He’ll be too expensive if he wins

  10. Skenes shoved and had no hitters going well past the 5th in starts. He was on a pitch count for most of the season and still produced crazy number.

  11. I think skenes is gonna win. Merrill would have won it most other years but skenes was one of the best pitchers in baseball as a rookie. Tough to beat that. Skenes is also a cy young finalist, and if he were brought up when the entire world thought he should have been brought up, he might’ve actually ended up being the 2nd ever cy young winner as a rookie, after Fernando Valenzuela.

  12. Why is it not possible to have co-winners? It’s so obvious that Merrill & Skenes both deserve it.

MLB needs to make a Rookie Pitcher of the Year award and make the current one for two-way players. They’re doing completely different jobs as players, it doesn’t make sense to group them together.

  13. Skenes, Merrill and chourio in order but in terms of future upside, Skenes, chourio and Merrill but it’s close.

  14. If a 1.96 ERA and 5.9 bWAR can’t win ROTY then why even nominate pitchers? The guy had a better season full stop no questions asked. If Skenes doesn’t win they need to either create a rookie pitcher and rookie position player award or get rid of it entirely.

  15. It’s a rookie of the year award, not rookie of half the year… If Skenes gets it, that’s total bullshit

  16. Merril and Chourio were great but skenes was on a whole other level. I’m gonna hate watching my cubs go up against him, and Chourio for years

  17. ppl say merril is so crazy to me haha he put up… average numbers. Skenes had a straight up Cy Young rookie season. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  18. Can somebody outline why Merrill makes sense over Skenes other than the fact he was up all year? I don’t think this is even close.

  19. Merrill all day long and 3 times on Sunday..lol

However, Skenes along with Merrill played a very big role in me winning my Fantasy BB league.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)
