  2. Hell yeah! Jumbo Joe immortalized along with Marleau! It's kinda crazy that the first two numbers retired in Sharks history are a couple of Xennials born in 1979.

  3. Congrats to Joe. Tough guy on the ice (especially to play against), but such a personality. Definitely deserving of this honor. I appreciate you talking about Joe Thornton, the person. We don’t see quite as much of this across the country.

  5. When I saw the Bruins selected "this kid" I was thinking….no way he lasts. Boston is going to eat him up. Nope, never happened. Thornton was a perfect fit for Boston and played his butt off there. Then they stupidly traded him to San Jose for what? I don't even remember….that's how good those guys were. Maybe they were better prior to Boston…doesn't matter…Sharks stole Joe from Boston. Nice job Mike O'Connell! LOL Of course O'Connell was smart enough to sign me in 2003….but they said it wasn't a real NHL contract (6.6 million!). HAHA "Bruin for a Day" program…anyways. Congrats to Grizzly Joe on his number retirement!! No doubt he'll be in Toronto next year for the HOF induction.
