  1. A top 5 pick would be nice because of the possibilities it brings. Teams may want to trade up, offer more assets etc. However, if they go 8-9, barely miss the playoffs and get the 15th pick it would still mean progress. Draft picks bust all the time and if they go 8-9 or so it would mean there was a culture shift in the locker room, and several young players would have improved under Rizzi. In this situation we'd theoretically have the right coach (Rizzi after going 6-2) and more foundational pieces already in place (due to his better coaching) to go along with that perceived 15th pick.

  2. Trading up in a draft is a better way to acquire a top pick, but it has to be for the right guy. As you mentioned the 15th vs 7th pick value. It would only take maybe a second rounder and a little extra to move up 8 spots(in a fair deal, potentially more). However, I don’t think the Saints do that. We’re better off taking a bunch of swings on young talent and hoping we hit.

  3. This logic is so flawed. The Saints just need to draft better period. If they had a top 5 pick and still picked ass it still wouldn’t matter. Typical complaining just to complain. Let’s see what Rizzi can do. Sheesh.

  4. I’m ok with trying to go on a run this season because honestly I really ain’t to impressed with the QBs this up
Coming draft if anything I’d rather tank next season and try to shoot for Arch Manning plus we ain’t been doing to good in the first round any ways we do better with mid rounds and UDFAs. Plus I wanna see what we got in Rizzi imagine if he goes on a run if he does I’d give him a one season prove it deal next year!

  5. I was hoping we would start tanking a few weeks ago. It's just the same mediocrity over and over. I'm really hoping we can find a way to land Sanders or Ward. I'm going to self herm if we end up with ewers

  6. Bro, Carr played very well at the beginning of this season. His play didn't fall off until the OL was suddenly the worst in the NFL. It's not rocket science.

The reason Carr usually doesn't play at an elite level out the gate is bc he's in a new system…..and as everyone knows, every QB needs time to adjust to new systems, as does everyone else in that system, including the OC. It took Brady any the Bucs until week 10 or 11 before their offense started clicking his 1st season there. Same thing happened to Favre, tho Vikings had a great OL and run game, so they didn't need Favre to be great right off the bat. There's many many examples of QB's needing time to get to know a new system and/or teammates in that system. It's not Carrs fault that both organizations he's played for have been unstable.

Elite QB's don't have to deal with that crap. Mahomes has had the same OC/play caller since entering the NFL. Brees has SP his entire career with the Saints. That's why i think Loomis is doing to promote Kubiak to HC. They get their offensive genius and the offense gets stability.

If u look at the most successful QB's in the NFL, they weren't learning new systems every year like Carr has. That's what comes with playing for bad teams. It is what it is.
