  4. The right question is who the starting SG will be for the Spurs and who the SG will be in the money time (Q4).
    Last year I didn't like the way Vassel was disappearing when it matters (especially in Q4). Castle is the complete opposite; he usually isn't the best player in Q1 but when it matters, his defense starts to be impressive and he has enough confidence to even impact offensively (such as yesterday with his 3-point at 90-90).
    I already told last year on this channel that Vassel will never be a second offensive option for the Spurs (perhaps even not a third one). Can he step-up ? I still doubt (and I am not the only one)…

    As the Spurs are currently struggling to start offensively the games, I would be tempted to use Devin Vassel as starting SG (to bring some points and his 3-point shooting). But you cannot pass on the Castle's defense in Q4 and Castle should definitely be the Spurs finishing SG.

    Devin Vassel will need to step-up this season or a question will start to emerge during the next two years : will the Spurs trade Vassel to bring a very good PG or SF to the team ?

    CP3 will perhaps continue to play in NBA during the season 2025/2026 but he should stop the year after. Barnes is currently playing very well but he shouldn't be in the team after his contract's term (two years from now). In the next two years, the Spurs will need to find their starting PG and SF (by trading or by drafting).
    For the second unit, I am not worried. As soon as the Spurs will become a playoff team, lots of vets will be interested to join the team. It will be very easy to replace Zach, Keldon, Malaki, Blake,… (all these players that cost more than bring any value).

  9. Mitch has to work Bassy in the line up to relieve Wemby , he gives us energy with all the little things he does . Has fast hands and plays the paint extremely well challenging drives in the paint and blocking shots .

  18. In fact "no KJ" might have helped a lot for this W.
    KJ when hot can for sure give a great impact on offense, but he's still a big liability on D.
    This game was a W ONLY because of a great D. When you rely on your team D to win the game, one guy with a low D IQ is enough to go from a W -> L

  20. Stephon Castle as a rookie is a great defender as was Kahwi Leonard as a rookie. However, although he's still raw offensively, he's already better offensively than Kahwi was as a rookie.

    Kahwi couldn't shoot as a rookie. Stephon shoots more prolifically than Kahwi did.

  24. The spurs team as a whole are coming to the realization that facilitation, screens and cutting is how they win ball games . Yes Victor is the teams offensive/ defensive punch however… he's not as scary when his team is lacking . With CP3 and Steph castle on the floor the ball seems to move always to the right guy . No more silly mistakes are being made and with the team picking things up defensively as a whole I can see them in the playoffs . I don't wanna get too crazy but don't Cap Wemby's potential . He and the team start to hit threes consistently and become defensive dogs later in the season … yeah maybe they could see the finals

  26. I don't think Castle will be quite where Kawhi was. Kawhi is only 1" taller, but his 7'3" wingspan and 9.75" hand size is pretty absurd (Castle a 6'9" wingspan and can't find a handsize, but I guarantee he has smaller hands than Kawhi). The real difference, though, is in specialization. Kawhi was gonna get rebounds no matter what, whether his offensive game developed or if it didn't. Castle's value, long term, is going to be more around his ability to play make by taking what the defense gives him. He's entering the league with way ball handling experience than Kawhi. I think Castle, defensively is going to be closer to Jrue Holiday than Kawhi (which I'll take) and offensively might be closer to a Chauncy Billups than a Kawhi (because Kawhi's development arc took him through a 3 and D path to provide offensive value initially).

  29. …the only reason we're winning is cause pop isn't coaching…wemby got injured missed three game's…in his first game back he played 34 minutes…if pop was the coach he would have played 22-25 minutes…and pop would be playing tre blake or branham more minutes and castle he would be getting 13-15 minutes with pop as the coach…and we wouldn't be 9-8 with pop…say what y'all want but y'all know it's true…mitch is coaching the spurs very different than what pop was before he got sick…

If we can get , bobby portis , brook lopez , exchange collins , vasell(bec he is always injured very fragile lets trade him were he still have a high value),braham 2030 and 2031 first round plus bit of cash ,+ 1 first round chicago to sweeten the deal , deym we at at least 2nd round playoffs , team
