1. Derek Lalonde will not be the head coach next year. It will and should be someone with NHL playoff head coach experience. If it’s not this year, which it seems to look like, then next year should be the goal to make the playoffs

4. Just keep lalonde until the offseason, get a good pick at the draft, hire a new coach.

5. No one mentioned ghostbear, which is fine. He was good offensively, but his defense was not good. Overall, happy Steve didn’t try to run it back with the same group looking at the contracts all the UFA’s got with other teams. Not sad about Walman at all. He’s nothing more than a decent 2nd pair and a good 3rd pair LHD. We will look back at this in 2-3 years and see it all make sense how Yzerman constructed this team. However, they should try and move Copp in the offseason if they can

6. Wanting change without change is an anti-axiom. Doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome is pure insanity. If Lalonde stays, nothing will change. You can pray that all of a sudden Lalonde changes his style and BOOM we're in the first round is as plausible as winning the lottery. Lalonde stays, we're playing golf in May.
