  1. Bobby Witt needed two years in the bigs before he became MVP caliber, so those players being here doesn't mean they are ready to win per say, if the Nats go that route, waiting to become good, or Wood and Crews becoming great before they go to FA, I am fine with that. I am upset about the Kyle move, not because of spending, but mainly the mismanagement of assets. They knew beforehand what he would be worth in arbitration, if they weren't willing to pay that, then they should have taken the best available offer, and pulled the trigger. If they want to get good through drafting and developing than fine, they get a winners discount in FA in the future, and it's easier to keep players because they have more payroll flexibility because they didn't spend it this offseason. But in order for that way to work they have to be willing to pull the trigger when it comes time to trade your expiring, or near expiring players that are veterans, or near the age of 30. They clearly didn't do that.

  2. I'm not sure what the panic is? The off-season pretty much just got started. The Nats need to sign a couple of veteran players. Do they need to sign the most expensive guys? Not necessarily.

We have talent, signing the right veterans could be key?
