Out of our 6 Super Bowl wins, which game was the most roller coaster of emotions / stressful to watch live?

  1. 2014 was biggest roller coaster of emotion overall though. From absolute shock and despair to total joy and relief all very quickly.

  2. The first one will always have a special place.
They weren’t supposed to be there, they were supposed to get blown out, yet they went for it in the last two minutes and Vintieri nailed another amazing kick and the Pats actually won. 😍

  3. 100% Seattle at no point did I think we were gonna win honestly. The Atlanta one you could feel the momentum swing. I’m sure for people who can remember it well the first one was up there too.

  4. 49 for sure. They were up 10, we took the lead, then it looked like they were gonna win after another freak catch. Then some random undrafted guy made a play or something, I forget the ending

  5. Seahawks — endless pacing and unease. And then that final drive. Kearse (?) caught the fuckin ball on his back?! And now they’re obviously gonna give it Marshawn to punch it in!😫… NO THEY DIDNT! NO WE DIDNT 🤯🤯🥳🥳🥳

Falcons — what. the. fuck…. for a good bit. And then Tommy starts to put drives together. And then Edelman uses the force to catch a ball on the ground covered by defenders. And then just literal speechlessness having come back from 25 down over the course of an hour and half of real time and just being in awe

  6. Seahawks for me. I went completely insane when the pick occurred. Then I realized my friend who’s a Seattle fan was the one driving me home that night…

  7. Not even close the Falcon SB. I remember at the start of the third quarter drinking to forget and when Hightower strip sack matt ryan I yell now give me a beer but this one is for hope!!

  8. Seahawks was definitely the biggest swing for despair to jubilation. I think my roommate and I just started screaming and hugging each other when Butler picked it.

  9. 49. 10 point comeback, which was tied for the biggest SB comeback at the time. Then we were definitely going to lose because of a ridiculous catch. Then an interception in the end zone to win it. No SB probability has swung more on a single play than that one.

Some people are going to say 51, but tbh, huge comebacks are boring for most of the game: “we can still win this” -> “we’re not going to win, but please let the final score be less embarrassing” -> “we are definitely winning this”

  10. 51 for me. I was so ready to give up and retreat into deep depression until Hightower got us the ball back…then it began.

  11. Patriots-Falcons.

I hosted a Super Bowl party. At 28-3 my friend said to his wife, “we can leave whenever. This game is over.” We all know what happens next. I was so excited when White scored the OT TD that I ran over and kissed the top of his head!

  12. The Next One. LFG!!!

Kidding. They will be terrible for a decade now with Jonathan Kraft and Mayo at the helm.

  13. Seahawks for me with Atlanta second – the Seahawks was just so back and forth the whole game – they are up 10 points we come back they are op 10 more points we come back – Bradys interception and we stil still come back. and just when I thought we had them they just drive down the field lucky throw after lucky throw. And even that hawks receiver caught the ball while he was lying on his back I had resigned myself that there was a curse and that we would lose – and then the interception in the end zone it was pure whiplash.

  14. Seahawks. It was such a slug fest. I had 07 and 11 memories all over again with the Kearse catch. The Atlanta SB and people might call me crazy the moment the pats started rolling I had LITTLE doubt.

  15. It all depends if you grew up with The Patriots and watched the transition from laughable jokes to Parcel/Bledsoe respect and finally Brady/Belichick godliness.

Once you embraced Brady/Belichick, losing was just surreal even when it happened. That’s why current events are so pathetic

  16. Panthers underrated in terms of the back and forth. Probably the most lead changes out of any Pats Super Bowl. 2003 and 2004 get lost in the shuffle but 2003 was an awesome game and the 2004 patriots are probably one of the most complete teams of all time.

  17. For me, it was XLIX, especially when you add XLII and XLVI for context as to the stressfulness of XLIX.

  18. LI was a great comeback. But XLIX turned on a single play. It was easily the worst (best?)

tbf a lot of these were crazy games. 2001 was insane. but kicking a fg to win it happens every sunday.

  19. People will say Seahawks or Falcons but both are wrong, because we already had 3/4 chips by that point. The correct answer for true rollercoaster is the Rams in 2001 when the Tebucky Jones fumble recovery was called back. I almost jumped out a window.

  20. 2001. Because the pundits expected a repeat of 1985. Even John Madden thought our rookie QB should have played for overtime. All of New England held their breath because, at the time, it might have been 15 years before we’d get this close again. It was a breakthrough game and without it, none of the rest might have happened.

  21. The one that was the most up and down back and forth was easily Super Bowl XLIX, the game had several lead changes and momentum swings culminating in the craziest play I’ve ever seen

  22. 49. 10 years since we had won it all and with those SB loses in-between, felt like 49 was it or bust. Going against the LoB, another freak catch, Beast Mode seething for the end zone, but then….BUTLER.

  23. 100% Rams for me. They were literally called “The Greatest Show on Turf”. We had an unknown rookie facing multiple future HoF players, had just come back from a last place season, barely beat the Raiders and the Steelers and it was in the snow. That last second FG in the wind and snow for 48 yards? Its THE highlight of the franchise in my mind and always will be

  24. 1 SB LI vs the Falcons. I thought it was over and done with, and then BAM. Crazy.

2 SB XLIX vs Seahawks. I thought that one was over too, but then BAM. Awesome.

Picked vs Falcons as #1 based primarily on the points differential so close to the end of the game and the “holy shizz!” factor.

  25. Seahawks, not any question…a serious battle until the very end…Malcolm, baby. Falcons was all Pats and really, once we got to overtime and won the toss, it was over.

  26. The hawks game is more significant for the trajectory of the franchise/dynasty. But the falcons game is the most down/high I’ve been. It was a fever dream

  27. Come on is that even a question it’s 28 to 3 that is without the doubt the most stressful Super Bowl we won the first ever overtime in the Super Bowl history the way we came back easily the most stressful one
