  2. The defense is going to be a huge problem. That’s the reason for this constant one step forward and one step back this year. You have an absolute zero on defense in Kat. You have an absolute zero on defense in Brunson. You have a 50/50 with Bridges with the last year and half sample size of him being closer to zero than the DPOY he was in Phoenix. You have a 6’4 Hart who even if gritty and tough, is severely undersized for the role he plays. You have zero depth. Thats 2.5 zeros and one undersized player in the starting lineup. OG who although amazing is one player who can’t make up for so many negatives.

    That’s why this defense is atrocious. How can it not be? This ain’t “oh it early” “oh it’s only 15 games”. Look at the personnel and this year so far has proven they can’t play defense unless the other team completely shits the bed with shooting.

    Unless Brunson and Towns go nuclear on offense and this team scores 140 a game, this defense will not win them any games against legitimate championship contenders. When you are depending on role player like Precious Achiuwa and a constantly injured Mitchell Robinson to “save” you, you are in trouble.

  3. I mean yes, that was the trade off. I feel like we all knew that coming in to this season. Things should get better once we get Mitch back though

It’s honestly crazy how the narrative going into the season was “this will be rough defensively until Mitch gets back” then the season unfolds and it’s rough defensively while waiting for Mitch to get right and people act like the world is ending. We need to fucking relax. Mitch will make everyone’s lives easier on defense and also the big sneeze will be a huge help as well. Precious is back in a week and he will give us more size to start plugging holes on that side of the ball and once Mitch is back we will be all good. Also for what it’s worth I don’t think Kat has been terrible on defense- he’s just not Mitch of ihart which we were spoiled by last year. Rome wasn’t built in a day and im predicting by end of Dec this team will have an 8 game win streak and be 11+ games over .500

  6. She’s right and although I’m optimistic it’s hard to see how you turn things around defensively with this lineup 

  7. Mikal is so bad on D, we got scamed by this trade :/ And the absence of good big defenders behind him for now make it worse.

  9. Why do some of yall think that the team would have been better or as good without KAT in the paint. Thibs said he would play Randle at the 5 which would’ve been an absolute disaster. The issue here is perimeter defense. It’s making KAT overextend and moving him out of position. KAT is already not a great rim defender so it makes it even worse. Fix the perimeter, we should be ok.
