Trading one of them makes zero sense right now and puts them back in the same dilemma they were in last year, where if they have an injury, they don't have a proven guy who can play well in the postseason. Kyper is just blowing smoke, and this makes no sense.
I like Kipper, but come on he comes out with alot of made up stuff just to get folks talking. They may be looking at moving Murray for a draft pick but they are not going to move one of the Marlies two best goalies unless there is a lot in it for them. And not just a rental. If there is truth to this statement, it could be because the Leafs might have to renegotiate Stolarz contract and he might want more money which means limited cap space. They might not want two expensive goalie contracts taking up cap space.
Kyper can’t write. He is alluding to teams eyeing the goalies beyond woll and Stolarz which would mean teams like Hildeby and Akhtyamov and that they will move one of them not woll or stolarz. That’s the only way his tweet makes any sense
There are other ways to clear cap. Like trading certain players for draft picks

Treliving would be insane to trade either Woll or Stolarz. Woll has too long of a history of surprise injuries and as good as Stolarz has played, he hasn’t proven he can be relied on for a deep run. We keep hearing about having depth. We finally have depth at the most important position and we’re going to trade it away? We’d better be talking about the Marlies.
