  5. He better be. I’d take a fucking pylon over Petry/Gus/Holl at this rate. At least the kid would bring a little speed and some potential payoff in the long run.

  10. He was supposed to be a good pick last I saw. Do not know if he is a good prospect or still mostly speculation on him.

  13. I’d love to see us make a move for him, but if some of these rumors about the asking price are true I’m not sure I’d be comfortable. If we could package a roster player, a second, and a prospect or two I’d be willing. Does Veleno, Wallinder, Mazur, and a 2nd get it done? That starts to make me uncomfortable so maybe it’s fair?

  15. A lot of people here banking on draft pedigree and no one asking why a team as bad as Columbus is trying to offload a 20 year old D drafted 6th overall.

  17. For the right price. Sure, we could offload a defensemen, and maybe something else.

    Could bloom with Aljo as a partner(?) – and we could have a young new defense combo instead of watching Petry or Gus all night crying.

  19. I don’t see the point in going after another righty. No one is displacing Seider and ASP could have a shot at next year’s roster if he comes over for the AHL playoffs and shows out. No need to dump assets for a guy we very well may not need. If he were a two-way LHD I’d be more intrigued.

  20. I’m not holding my breath. I can almost say for certain that Stevie doesn’t think they are playoff ready. If he did, he’d be in on more.

  23. We need a D man who is actually known for what we’re missing. Blistering shot from the point, tough and physical, very hard to lay against. Can score 15 goals a year exct….all w have are just guys who can skate and maybe move the puck. Welcome Johansson. Just another guy

  24. I certainly hope he isn’t offering young players or picks for a player who can’t crack the lineup of a bad team.

  25. I know it’s all depends on the price and the offers CBJ is getting, but I would be all over this. He’s only played 50 NHL games over 2.5 years, the going theory on Dmen especially is 200-250 games until you really know what they are. he’s still so young too, and CBJ is yo-yoing him up and down to the AHL, and when he’s up he’s playing like 8 minutes a night.
    Even if he just turns into a halfway decent RHD, he’d slot great on that 2nd pair and be the shit down guy to ASP’s off hand OFD threat that he is.

    Edvinsson/Seider/ASP/Jirichek is a really really solid Dcore if they all pan out.
