A lot of BS “reporting” is going around that the Red Sox are the favorites, and a deal is close, and blah blah blah, but this is the first legitimate reporter who raised my eyebrow.
If this is the current offer, which seems very plausible, then I think the idea of the Red Sox actually getting Soto has to start holding some water to it – which is absolute insanity.
Didn’t he also have Bogaerts re-signing with the Sox just before the Padres deal hit?

I don’t see the appeal for Soto going to the Mets besides money and NY. He won’t be the face there immediately- it’s Lindor’s team hands down
I’m not saying we hit all his boxes, but the Red Sox have some really promising players coming up in Roman, Mayer, Teel and Campbell, two all-star bats in Devers & Duran who Juan Soto would still trump as the face of the franchise, an all star pitcher in Houck, and probably one or two more starters on the way if the Red Sox make true on their promises. I’m also not saying he’s coming here but it isn’t an unappealing landing spot. I’m not holding my breath though
