New Orleans Saints Loss To Rams, Loss Of Taysom Hill Maybe Be Season’s Death Knell

The New Orleans Saints were unable to close out a major opportunity against the Los Angeles Rams, but the losses aren’t limited to the game’s result. Taysom Hill, Nick Saldiveri and Tyrann Mathieu all couldn’t make their ways back out on the field for the Saints and those losses may be more impactful than the one to Los Angeles before it’s all said and done.

Rizzi wasn’t able to maintain the momentum coming out of the bye week, but his candidacy as the long-term head coach is still very much alive. But beyond the head coaching change, the Saints need to desperately correct and overhaul their run defense from multiple angles.

  1. Ross, the team needs to be rebuilt. This off-season will be the most important since the 2006 season. Every unit has to be rebuilt. Alvin wouldn't have the rushing yrds if we had other playmakers. We will need a new head coach.

  6. We can beat Giants and Raiders! (Both are mathematically eliminated from playoffs and tanking hard)

    But probably no others. We got an updated playoff % chance? 2% or so is my guess

  8. Got a vet a qb who it takes forever to warm up, how a benched vet with too much tape who has won absolutely nothing in his career wasn't on a prove it deal when everybody else has been is crazy work

  12. Look man lol with everyone healthy I don’t think they would beat either Green Bay or Washington. This team just doesn’t have talent anymore. The defense is too old and it’s showing pretty well right now. The offense just doesn’t have enough talent. They have a bunch of WR2’s, WR3’s, and WR4’s. They have no true WR1. No Olave isn’t a WR1 in my opinion. Besides the fact I truly hope he retires to save his brain. Then you have a freshly paid Kamara dropping passes all over the place. Carr is a good quarterback but he can’t make receivers better like Brees or Brady did. Actually Carr is an ok quarterback not good. For as many years he’s been in the league he shouldn’t be that inconsistent. He plays like a second or third year quarterback instead of a 10 or 11 year veteran. The biggest problem with the defense is they can’t make in game adjustments whatsoever. It’s horrible.

  16. This team has a knack for bringing your hopes up and then dashing it to pieces!! We had an opportunity with Atlanta losing today to be a game behind with a win, man I guess I hoped for too much!! Between DC's consistent inconsistency, Kamara dropping passes, defense cant stop the run and Kubiak's highly conservative play calling I would say it's best the saints hire the next HC from outside the organization as this would spark a total overhaul and rebuild.. As much as I love Rizzi I believe it would be another BIG mistake just like with DA to hire from within!!

  19. We are not going anywhere with Derek Carr. I know the New Orleans media and front office absolutely loves this guy but Derek Carr is not it.

    Guy had wide open WRs on several occasions, Carr can't see the field .

    This team is old tired and not talented
