81 days until Spring Training! (I miss baseball. 😭)
Trading your homegrown talent for pieces doesn't mean you're "bought"
Enjoy listening to Jeff’s and Matt’s opinions.
Wish Jeff or someone on their team actually read the CBA or talked to someone who is more knowledgeable regarding how deferral payments worked. Dodgers need to put in present day value of the contract in an escrow account 2 years (on July 1st) after they earned the deferred payment. Also it doesn’t have to be liquid (ie 10 year treasury bond will work in Ohtani’s case or something agree with MLB and the player). Only reason I’m commenting is because this isn’t the first time I see this happening on this channel.
Overall enjoy the content and work this channel produces. Keep up the good work.
There was rumor that Dodgers would do 3 yr, $50 million deal for Tyler O'Neill…and Paul Sewald mentioned sort of wanting to be on Dodgers, so he would be a nice pickup to offset Daniel Hudson
I'm not sure which is more stunning; that the Dodgers have nearly $1billion in deferred payroll or that the total, even without Ohtani's $680 million, is more than the rest of MLB, combined. No matter: Go Dodgers!
