2. 😂 no trolling. Deferred 🤑 is good for the sport when the league adds a salary floor. Teams are forced to spend and they can get around it via deferred 💵. While these teams can’t spend at the level of the Dodgers, just think about teams like Pirates, Guardians spending an extra $30-40M

3. It really feels like nobody understands what the dodgers are doing with deferred money. They’re not kicking the can down the road for the next ownership etc. you have to ask yourself what is Gugenheim? It’s a money management company, it’s literally what they do to generate the billions of dollars they’re worth. The players are accepting the deferrals because it’s sound financially since that money is put into escrow and trust accounts. What that does is generate interest for the dodgers and the player. The dodgers have essentially used their knowledge to make money on player investments outside of merch and advertising. The literal money they owe the player is generating money for the franchise. It’s paramount to the Kraft family using their players on Kraft branded products; using tools inherent in the ownership. Yes other ownership could defer money but they won’t be able to maximize it like the dodgers can. Pretty simple

4. “Not good for the sport” is such a pussy take, what you mean to say is “the dodgers are a better run organization than everyone else and thus the reality of how far the gap between them and everyone else now painfully clear”

5. What's worst for the sport is for all of the other teams not spending money. I think there should be a salary bottom to where all teams are required to spend a minimum of 150 million

6. Personally, I still feel Bogaerts will perform to a level and fill a big need on the Padres. He won't make up for the past but I'm not a backwards looking person. He plays smart baseball and doesn't make mistakes, that's the floor I'd expect. Beyond that if he could become a reliable hitter, that'd be fantastic.

   I'm more concerned with other things like signing Profar and Sasaki. The Padres have a big question at catcher. Even if Sasaki is signed, the Padres need at least one more starter. Can Waldron show at spring training with his problems fixed? Are any other guys from the farm ready to be promoted?

   IMO those are more important than if Bogaerts' contract is bad.
