  1. I tried telling this to some Padres fans last time and they laughed at me. And they I see them asking, “why haven’t the Padres signed any ace?” 😂

  2. This is basically the same narrative as last years offseason. But we found a way to field a contender. I’m honestly not worried because no matter who you get it takes a full team of winners who can gel together and play as one. That could include a a mixture of big jersey sales players or some more lo key names, but it ain’t what’s on the back of the jersey that matters. I’m disappointed to see so many great players move on but we still will keep a lot of great players too. And I’m looking forward to seeing who steps up. Don’t worry so much. Roki to the Padres baby.

  3. LF Connor Joe (2M)
    CF Merrill
    RF Tatis
    3B Machado
    SS Bogarts
    2B Crone
    1B Ty France ?
    C Campusano, Sullivan
    DH Arraez

    Bench
    IF- Wade, Tim Andersen (2M)
    OF- Ornelas
    Utility- Lockridge
    C- Diaz 1M

I think Ty France, Connor Joe, and Tim Andersen just need to be on a truly contending team.

    SP
    1- King
    2- Darvish
    3- Cease
    4- Roki 🙏 or Lorenzen (4M) or Sandovol (5M) or Soroka (3M)
    5- Waldron/ Vasquez/ Brito

    Bullpen
Maybes- Bergert, Reynolds, Cosgrove, Kolek, reunion with Hill or Kerr (1M)
    Long- Morejon,
    Middle- Peralta, Matsui, Hoeing
    Setup- Adams, Estrada
    Closer- Suarez

  4. I don't see any upside for Roki Sasaki. It sounds like he'll get overworked, which could lead to injuries. And, given the team's financial situation, they won't be able to do the right thing when he comes up for arbitration in 3 years.

  5. Padres window just closed! Last year was your chance padres yall had the dodgers on the rope… if y’all would have beat the dodgers y’all would have won the ws! I told all my sd class mates who ever won that round would win it all!

  6. Video commentator made a good point. He said Sasaki will go somewhere based off of team culture and chemistry. The Padres are a toxic dumpster fire. Darvish is amazing but I doubt 1 player will be enough to convince Sasaki to join San Diego. Get rid of Machado and Profar rebuild.

  7. Padres best chance to win was this year, their window of opportunity has officially closed. They were more interested in taunting Dodger players and fans than to actually win the Series. 24 scoreless innings should put them to shame. Manny and Tatis ain’t never getting a Ring lmao

  8. Can't believe I'm feeling bad for padres, but man. Preller is doing everything he can to put out an amazing team, but the owners are holding him back so hard. Props to him for doing what he does

  9. I'm a Dodgers fan, I just watched an interview with Andrew Friedman, and he just said the Dodgers are going to and have been very aggressive in signing the best players available. It sounds like the Padres are going in the opposite direction.

  10. If the Padres lower payroll to 170 that is going to hurt their chances of getting Roki too. It’s gonna show him that they’re not willing to do what it takes to win and they won’t be very good long-term. Also Rocky is not a finished product, he only has two pitches and he will likely struggle his first year or two in the majors.

  11. Also how are they going to get the 3 to 4 pitchers required to sign Roki? You need at least eight or nine starters to be able to guarantee him a six man rotation all year long, because of injuries.

  12. I have been a Padres fan for 50 years this is the same old story " We don't have the money" back to scrap heap shopping and last place

  13. I don't have first knowledge or a complete pucture of the Padres org business(but who does?)

But there's olenty in this video not consistent with what I've heard.

Start withe Competitive Balance Tax threshold. $210M was last year's threshold, supposedly this year is $240M which makes practically all the analysis and opinion in this video invalid.

Second and less important than that Tax threshold is that as long as Padres fans support the team by sellout attendance, I don't think overall operations are lacking funds. Any limitation is by MLB for competitive balance, not because of lack of cash. I was guessing this kast year that a single sold out game at Petco might pay Manny Machado'salary for the year or thereabouts. That might be wrong but Padres support the organization well although MLB rules make it difficult sometimes to spend on everything you might want.

  14. I'm seeing all sorts of comments to this video I can't agree with. The Padres are on better financial and talent footing than every other MLB team except maybe a handful. In fact the tslent collection at the MLB level is probably the envy of every other team including every other playoff caliber team except perhaps the Dodgers The Yankees might want to swap every player in their lineup with the Padres except for Judge, Soto and whoever is catcher

The problem for the Padres org is depth, to concentrate talent in the starting lineup, the farm has been repeatedly decimated and replenished. If someone is injured his replacement is already on the 27 man roster vecause it's a big dropoff to reach unto the minors

Maybe over time Preller will be able to build sustainable deoth but for now and in 2025 the Padres have a pretty good start already, certainly better rhan the oast 2 years

  15. Always been losers.
Finally got some money, they got cocky, and back to lames.
Cocky only works if u can back it up.
What do they expect when a fucktard like machado runs the dugout.

  16. I’ve said it for years. Have Machado? Have most of October off, as well. Every great team needs a leader. They crowned Manny as theirs. Only, he’s an individualist. A child. A self admitted jogger to 1st base. He’s a great talent who leads by horrible examples. However, they paid him the big bucks and for many years. It’s a bed they made and must sleep in. His immaturity rubbed off on Tatis. What a fool he made of himself on the doorstep of 24 consecutive scoreless innings. The longest postseason scoreless stretch in Major League Baseball in 33 years. Anyone picture Mookie or Freeman taunting like that? Me either. Those two franchises are in the same division but the Dodgers are in another class. Just look at the swag chain and Kershaw meme on their scoreboard incident as a ‘how not to do it’ guide.
