The bench +/- stats are vomit worthy. Two players are directly responsible for this but they continue to get huge minutes for some odd reason. Something Einstein said about insanity.
He is the prototypical modern NBA scorer. I am surprised some other less talented players who suit a different era get more praise in this sub. While our true second super star flies under the radar among the fanbase and some still continue to think he should come off the bench. Lol.

I think Devin is our best and most versatile scorer, but a 7 game sample size is not a lot so I wouldn’t take these stats as gospel.
I feel like I’m taking crazy pills
Dev can arguably do more stuff but there’s a certain 7 foot 5 guy on our squad that does that a lot more scoring than Devin
It feels disingenuous to laud him for playing with backups but not mention that he is also doing much of that damage against backups.
That being said Devin is that dude. He just needs to stay healthy and build rhythm with the starting unit. Just a few weeks ago I was having to defend him from people who are still salty we didn’t take Maxey or Haliburton with that pick. I think Dev’s ceiling is much closer to a championship caliber guard than either of those two guys and I think he can prove it this season if his health holds up.
For all their counting stats you still need guards to guard.
Small sample size but don’t hate how he is playing. That +/- is concerning but again small sample size. Really it’s the turnovers that bother me about him more than anything else. If he can stay healthy and establish himself as the clear 2nd option that will bode well for where the Spurs end up this season.
What website is this? Looks clean
While Vassell isn’t a three level scorer, he is a two level scorer at the levels where the team needs – 3 pointers and midrange. The team has Castle, Sochan, and Wemby to score in the paint. I envision Vassell as the third option or third option B on a Championship caliber team. As the second option scorer I think he’s a bit lacking at the moment, but it could work if options 3 and 4 are very capable. Vassell is still young and improving so perhaps he can develop into a #2 option.
He is good, but there’s Steph Castle now… he’ll have some trouble competing with the rotation.
Bout time he starts again
Devin is a bucket getter. He’s a fail safe when the play is broken. Just give him the ball and more often than not he can hit a tough shot.
He also leans his head and body 10% when he shoots a jump shot.
I do have legit concerns about his longevity. Looks like his knee will be injury prone. Let’s hope the best!
