you don't negotiate a no trade clause to not use it to the fullest. he'll use it as leverage, and it's good leverage.
The bigger problem with the no trade clause and the point Nick is making is that Kirk would have ALL the leverage in any trade scenarios. The other team that would want him would not have to take any of his salary and wouldn't have to give very good draft capital to Atlanta since Kirk has all the leverage.
