The people in this sub freaking out about firing coaches/whoever seem to not realize we literally cannot get worse
First off, I really like THG stuff.
There is so much wrong with this team and to fix it is almost impossible in its current state unless teams want to trade and take on contracts. Doubtful but you never know. I could go on about not liking trading Tomasino or waiving Tolvanen or Fabbro but that doesn’t solve the problem of right now.
I feel the only main moves they can maybe do is Schenn and Nyquist. Probably waiver wire with them. If a trade can be worked out, do it. Scissions (FO: 56.3%) is a maybe. Not going to say 100% but it’s a possibility. With ROR week to week, I would trend into the unlikely on that. Call up some players. This team needs some juice and this team of players isn’t cutting it.
The uniforms are right.
Trotz has been the worst GM I’ve ever seen.
What’s crazy is I actually see a way out of this. Finish the tank this year and get your top pick. If we could land a day 1 nhl starter, your rebuild is close to over. That’s basically 7 first round picks including a top 5. You’d ideally want a couple top 5s but for a team that actually refuses to tank, I’d take what I can get.
This season you can move Nyquist, O’Reilly and sissons. Next year you can go get a FA center and play them, svechkov, Novak and your new kid as your centers.
With guys like Stamkos, they could pair well with young kids with actual motors. It’s basically what rebuilding teams do with vets anyway, just use them to support the kids as they grow.
Anyway, that’s my copium. That Trotz won’t continue to shit the bed and will finish the damn rebuild since we’re already this close.

Go big young or go home! Bench Sissons & Big Sexy, every dmen over 25 worth under $7m/yr. ROR to IR. Cut Schenn. Bring up Kemell, Scheffer, Ufko. Minimum 17min TOI for every F under 25.
