Scott Harris (per Petzold): “We always seduce ourselves into thinking the Winter Meetings is the finish line of the offseason. In most offseasons, it’s not even the halfway point. We have a long way to go in the offseason.”

When we find something that we actually like, we’ll jump on it.”
This is a handcuffed man buying time
So they aren’t doing anything. Will say though had they waited last offseason instead of rushing in on Maeda, they’d have better options. Never know how each year plays out, but maybe Harris ihas that in the back of his mind
Man I really wish we spent like a team who wanted fans at their games
I don’t mind Harris not rushing in on overpaying middling improvements. But the risk is also not improving at all. Or worse- looking like a team that has no ambition.
On Maeda: All will be forgiven if he can help get Sasaki
This guy loves waiting until the last possible second to do anything.
Might as well have Harris Zoom into the meetings as we/he already knows he’s not there to spend money.
I’d rather the Tigers not do anything if it means bringing in guys like….Alex Cobb.
The reason the Tigers were so great last year at the end of the year was because they let the young kids play. All of the bad players for the Tigers last year were old vets.
Translation. We ain’t doing anything this week.
Sigh
It’s the way Scott Harris says things that bothers me about him, he just seems like a total corporate shill, who is basically a Yes Man to Illitch. Feels like Illitch wanted a GM who wouldn’t push back against him on most decisions.
