Curran still thinks that McCarthy has as good an arm as Maye. He was hating on Drake since before the draft, and now he is acting like "I saw him being great.".
Curran calling out Mayo’s bad leadership here makes up for his embarrassingly soft interview with Mayo.
Curran was still on the Mac Jones train all last year. HeS tHe gUy SeE !! After the bills game gimme a break.
You build like the lions did. Inside out ,since the pats don't wanna pay for any help at tackle and guard the next draft better be so many lineman it'll be the most unflashy boring draft of our lifetime or were effed
All the ads blow.
Says the guy who wanted JJ McCarthy, I hate listening to Curran these days.
Drake Maye behind a good O line with a decent running game and receivers that can catch the ball would be the rookie of the year. The kid can make any throw and if him scrambling was an option not a necessity he would be brutal to scheme against.
Curran is right about his buddy he's soft. Mayo wants to be the players buddy. He created a soft atmosphere he's like having Pete Carroll back only Pete new what he was doing.
Curran is nauseating!
Huh?!?!?! Noooooo sorry Curran you wanted JJ McCarthy not Drake Maye. You don't ever get to take any credit for Maye. And McCarthy absolutely doesn't have CLOSE to the arm strength of Maye. Curran's takes are embarrassing and he doesn't know football or the Pats nearlyyy as much as he thinks he does.
Love Tom. He's wrong. Jerod Mayo and Alex van Pelt have done as good a job turning Drake into a top-tier starting NFL quarterback as it is possible to do. The reason Tom wanted JJ over Drake in the draft is the same reason I did – because Drake had very limited experience, and his footwork was absolutely atrocious. Everything they've done up to now, including the stuff that was hard to watch as fans – sitting him while the team struggled under Jacoby, the mundane play-calling, relying on the short stuff and the run game, all of it – has to be seen now through the lens of results. Drake Maye's progress has been nothing less than meteoric, and it is vindication for the approach this coaching staff has taken. They inherited the weakest roster in the league, the worst o-line talent in the league, and a rookie QB with high-school level footwork, yet they've got this team fighting to the last play and the fanbase already expecting wins.
Maybe Mayo's approach is too cautious for Tom E. Curran's liking. Tough sh*t, Tom, because that cautious approach has been exactly the medicine this team needed. Obviously!! BILL Belichick left this organization in shambles on his way out the door, and in less than a year, Mayo and AVP, and their cautious approach, have this team a few pieces away from contention. This year was always gonna be heavy in the loss column. The fact that we're one catch, or one fewer holding penalty, or one 4th down stop away from victory in all these games is absolute, incontrovertable proof that Mayo's playing the hand he was dealt perfectly.
Covington's probably not the guy, we need o-line help and depth, and we need Polk and Baker to step up or be replaced. That's it. That's all this team needs to start really winning next year because what I'm seeing is that just as Tom and I were wrong about Drake, all y'all nitwits calling for Mayo's head aren't seeing what we really have here. Mayo's a keeper. So is AVP. Put away the torches and pitchforks cuz this team is heading in the right direction!
Let's face it this year was always about developing a very inexperienced quarterback and AVP and staff have done that with flying colors. IDK about Mayo but as far as coaching AVP is the best one on the staff and if we learned anything from the Mac experiment it was you don't pull the rug out from under your rookie QB if it ain't broke don't fix it
Tom Curran is a fraud
Everyone in these comments are hypocrites and wanted Jayden Daniels or JJ McCarthy and probably still do.
Wait a minute Curran thinks mayonnaise is good coach?
Being mayo will be back next year, then next year also will not be a good place for a young player, and older player, any player
The FANS will decide if Mayo stays – reading the tea leaves? He's gone. Why? Because Mayo is obviously in over his head. He's not a head coach and the DEI experiment/commitment Kraft made is over, so we can all move on.
