  1. All I'm going to say is Alex Cobb better not be the only player we sign this Offseason and the fanbase was upset with the Cobb signing on Instagram 😂 saying Cobb is a Maeda 2.0 and Mike Pelfrey 2.0 too but I'm willing to bet that he won't be either Pelfrey and Maeda but only time can tell

  2. It’s a one year deal guys.. they literally can’t hurt us at this point with payroll so low. I never freak out about a one year deal.. I would rather see JV or Max make a farewell tour but I’m not sure those guys are interested in that.

  3. Signing a 37 year-old pitcher, who only pitched 16 innings in the regular season? The plan is either fix him so he can be moved at the trade deadline or provide Kenta Maeda with roommate of a similar age. To me it seems bizarre and disheartening.

  4. Set myself up for disappointment thinking they’d be in on a guy like Santander…..time is just a flat circle. Maybe in another decade they’ll be serious about trying to win.

  5. Scott… I enjoy your posts…but constantly pointing out your speaking gaffs to us actually making us focus on them more. It's showing your insecurity. Using the ADHD excuse all of the time makes it even worse. Just go with the flow and stop apologizing for your gaffs…we don't care…we want to hear about Tiger baseball…not your speaking capabilities.

  6. Not surprised, wasn't expecting Cobb necassarily, but he’s the kinda guy I figured we’d sign to eat up some innings. His health is what I’m concerned with more than his abilities. I still think we’ll sign a bigger named starter at some point maybe a Flaherty or Pivetta level I would think. It also wouldn’t shock me if we signed one more Cobb-like guy just because he is so iffy health wise. Maeda is interesting if he can have a bounce back season, he’s probably as good or better than Cobb when he’s pitching well, though that’s probably a big if.

I’m not thrilled with Goldy either at this stage in his career but I think he could be a good veteran presence if we do add him. In our park I wouldn’t expect more than a .250ish avg with 15-20 HR’s at best. Not great but I wouldn’t be too disappointed with that overall. I don’t mind them taking bargains if that’s how they decide to go but I do think they need to sign several guys if that is the case. Only 2 guys just won’t cut it in my opinion, I’d think we need to sign 4 at least.

What I take from them talking about JHM at 1st is they want him involved more this season but not at DH. I think the DH will be a combination of several guys like Tork, Carpenter, Veirling, & maybe Jung depending on who else we sign and defensive matchups etc. I think we will definitely sign another infielder (hopefully Kim) and an everyday 3B if they are considering moving Keith around instead of him locking down at 2B. It seems like we might be looking to add as many value deals as we can opposed to just one big signing like Bergman. I guess we will see. 😂👍🏼

  7. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 smh. Pathetic. An aging veteran. Because ilitch doesn’t want to spend any money. Does anyone believe the tigers or red wings stand a chance right now. Incompetence from top to bottom. Only redeeming thing is the players smh

  8. We've got a lot of good players coming up soon. Goldy is not a bad stopgap. Keeping Tork and Jace? We'll see. Sure handedness hitter for 3rd is something i still look for.

  9. I see the RED WINGS AND TIGERS are going to be low payroll teams! CHRIS DOES NOT WANT TO SPEND DADDYS BUILT UP FORTUNE ON ABOVE AVERAGE PLAYERS! IF THE TIGERS DO WHAT IT APPEARS THEY WILL TAKE A BIG STEP BACK! WHAT HAPPENED LAST YEAR WAS MAGIC NOT SUSTAINABLE

  10. I like the Cobb signing as he was throwing very well that last start for Clev in playoffs against Tigers. I recall it was 94 MPH, its not like it was 87 floater balls by Maeda, Cobb looked legit. As for others repping at 1st base, its contingency plans for Tork not having a good spring thus him starting at Toledo. A good spring is needed for Tork to be in Detroit opening day, or atleast not a bad spring.

  11. It took all this time to sign Alex Cobb? So, this off-season is looking like last year with projects, cast-offs and dead-enders. Squeeze the lemons to see if there is any juice left. Offense? Well, everybody returning HAS to be better and it will be a magic fairyland of wishes and clutch hitting to drive in runs. Put a band-aid on third base, no need to address that ongoing issue until a farm hand is ready.

  12. We all are treating this team like they didn’t make the playoffs this past season. IMO it’s because that success is not equating to organizational change . And I don’t think the Tigers fan base likes this ownership treating this team like The A’s , Rays etc.

  13. Scotty, stop with the accolades for Harris. He is Baloney. He doesn't give a damn about the Detroit fans, particularly those of us who have been around long enough to see 68' and 84'.

  14. Absolutely garbage front office and owner. Team will never win anything shopping in the bargin bin. Not going to a single game or buying any merch until this team actually decides to spend some money

  15. Checklist item 1: cheap rehab pitcher. Item 2: washed up bat: still working on it. Neither worth a spot on 40 man roster. If you sign a real player those spots are becoming precious.
