[Mark Feinsand] The Angels appear to be close to trading an outfielder, per source. Taylor Ward has been generating a lot of interest, so it would not be a surprise if it’s him.

  1. I’m curious what he could net for us. I know perry said they were still looking at bullpen/another bat. Maybe an arm or two for the pen?

  2. If it’s ward, we’re getting a youngish guy

    Adell/Moniak, a usable vet

Trout (every doubt imaginable) a salary dump

  3. Ward could get us a nice bullpen piece or one solid prospect. Perry getting the old regime out

  4. Gonna miss Wardy of he’s gone but am definitely excited to see Perry still making moves. Hopefully we get another good arm for this.

  5. It has to be Ward. I like Jo and Mickey but if anything, they’ll be the additional piece in a trade, not the main prize.

  6. This is one of those rumors that’ll either be confirmed in 15 minutes, 12 hours, or never spoken about again.

  7. Ward for Ranger Suarez? Suarez the better player imo, but 1 year less team control

Ward to Atlanta for some young mlb ready pitching?

Ward to Pittsburgh for one of their MLB ready SP in AAA?

  8. Why does this smell like ward to the Yankees as yankees lost out on Soto so they need outfielder…

  9. I’m happy that a Ward trade is seemingly finally about to happen. As others have said, he doesn’t fit the timeline with only 2 years of team control, but I think trading him now makes a lot of sense because his value is high coming off last season.

Plus, there are a lot of teams looking for “middle of the lineup Outfield bats” so much so that there’s a bit of a market for him and Perry should get several offers. I know a lot of folks here seem to want a pitcher in return, but I’d be in favor of a young infielder that could push Rendon to the bench permanently and eventually take his spot on the roster.

  10. It’s prob Nolan Arenado, why? The Halo Triple Threat:

    -over 32
-statistically trending down with inflated stats from former home ballparks
-went to high school locally so Roger Lodge can give shoutouts

  11. Whatever haul Wardy gets and the #1 overall pick might just keep me on the line for this team another season

  12. It’s important to point out that the Ward bit is pure speculation. I wouldn’t be surprised if Adell was the one getting traded here. Right field seems like a pretty obvious position in need of upgrading, *if* they’re trying to be competitive. Maybe sell high on Adell and sign a LHH bat like Max Kepler?

Pipe dream would be Adell for Mick Abel, but I doubt Philadelphia goes for it.

  13. I’d be sad to see Ward go, but if it’s for a solid return like a bullpen upgrade or young, MLB-ready talent, it could be the right move for the team’s future.
