What do we think, is one of our goalies injured, or is Don finally pushing the panic button and trying something different?

  1. Edit: they put Chinny on IR to “clear a roster spot” so I don’t think anyone is injured.

  2. I’ve been supporting Elvis’s attempt to get reestablished this season. Until last night I thought he was making decent progress. I was hoping that he would have been replaced for the third period last night. I’m okay with trying to reestablish his confidence, but I think last night he needed a wake up call.

  3. After last night, we definitely need to try and revitalize our goaltending. Hoping Jet can rise up to the opportunity

  4. Elvis about to be “sick” and out for the next week or 2 while we roll out Tarasov and Jet as alternating Goalies to see what they got to give us

  5. yeah last night was pretty uninspiring play by..everybody I think. Elvis set the tone from the get go, it was a fluky goal and whatnot but man some of those thay went in were…woof

  6. There’s probably way more to it but he probably saw Elvis’ performance last night, knows Tarasov is somehow worse, so why not see if Greaves is ready to take on at least a backup role

  7. Well, I thought last night was a good example of what’s going on.

    First goal: very flukey fluttering puck after initial save by Elvis. Forester weaves around FOUR Blue Jackets for the shot, Gates was camped out in front the whole time, picks up the rebound no problem, nobody touches him until the puck is basically over the goal line.

    Second goal: Really nice screen by Flyers. Credit where it’s due.

    Third goal: Also a nice screen, Kenechy had a ton of time, loads of space to take a great shot. Untouched.

    Fourth goal: Werenski gets absolutely BURNED on this. Not hustling back, gives up a breakaway.

    Fifth goal: Evlis gets into a bad position and gives up a goal which would have been an easy save if he stays home.

    I don’t think Elvis is a “great” goalie by any means but to act like our defense isn’t super soft too is dishonest. They clearly kinda suck. I don’t think Jet Greaves solves any of this. Yes I think a better goalie than Elvis can probably save one of those two screened shots. But we can’t ignore that hte defense just isn’t good.
