  4. Swayman went through the fine print in his deal and realized he doesn’t have to actually be a good goalie to still get his money. Genius.

  5. Matchups feel weirdly condensed this seasons. As in it feels like the wings are playing teams multiple times in shorter periods, especially the outside of division matchups (since this feels common with the in division teams already). Seems like there’s a lot of times where the Wings play the same team twice (or 3 times) in a week or so span and knock out the entire season series

  12. Stupid people allow themselves to schedule painfully early doctors appointments that are 9 months away. I am that stupid person and this morning’s appointment snuck up on me. I did not want to go out in the cold at 7 am to make an 8 am doctors appointment today. I just want to nap now but work and life are getting in the way.

  13. Since someone asked about Cossa’s future for this year, figured I’d start a thread about next year’s goalie plan. Really curious what we do with our goaltending next year if Cossa is ready for some backup duties. Husso and Lyon are both FAs and Dadbot will be playing on his last year. Do we re-sign Lyon and run 3 goalies again?

    I think Lyon is a guy worth keeping but could be valuable closer to the TDL this year if he’s healthy. But Talbot is older so is he more injury prone? And if he is, can you realistically just run two goalies and risk Cossa being forced into more games than you’d like? And if you have three goalies again will Cossa even be getting enough games to improve his play? Curious what people think.

  14. Dream scenario this season: Ed/Mo/Kasper/Raymond/Cossa continue their trend of being awesome. The league is fucked tight this year; we are 7th last in the league and still in the hunt for a wild card spot. 32nd place team and the 25th placed team are only separated by 6 points currently. We fall into the bottom 5 while still being a somewhat competitive team. We jump into the top 3 and snag Hagens. That would effectively complete our rebuild. Prospect pool would finally have some great center depth.

    Still some 1C calibre prospects available like Misa, McQueen in the top 5.

    Anybody watch the OHL and know why Martone is being listed as a center and a winger? If hes becoming a center then damn this is a perfect draft for us to be in the top 5.

  15. Ive never really liked the barstool guys and ive been pretty hit or miss on Biz but i dont think he deserves to get jumped by 7 alcoholic idiots outside of a bar. After watching that footage that could’ve ended really bad for Biz. Glad he’s okay. Fuck those miserable scumbags.

  17. Was just thinking those guys who attacked Paul Bissonnette were probably going to drive home drunk that day if they didn’t get arrested. Violent, belligerent, dumb, tendency to try and weasel out of accountability for shit they started, all highly typical behavioral traits that often go hand in hand with driving drunk regularly

    That said, I think Cossa deserves more NHL time. AND I think the Wings need him for more than goaltending.
