i think butler makes us better in the playoffs this year, and i like turning Leverts expiring into 3 years of Jaquez along the way, but not sure if it’s worth giving up Garland long term? what’s everyone’s thoughts?

  1. Stop we already have a line up of 4 all stars, and 2 who could win 6th man of the year.

Why would anyone not be happy with that.

  2. Even if you’re all in on winning this year and not worried about the future, I’d really worry about the offense replacing garland’s great shooting with Butler’s bad shooting.

  3. What you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

  4. Oh gee whiz, I hope this doesn’t happen. We are doing great. I see no reason to trade anybody. It would be a trade just to be trading.

Cleveland sports fans always think the grass is greener somewhere else.

  5. Absolutely moronic for the current best team in the NBA to trade one of there core players for an inefficient, non shooting forward, whose old and on a bad contract. Please never post an NBA take in this sub. It really is that bad

  6. look i think jimmy would be the perfect piece to get us over the boston hump but we’re not trading one of the core four for him

  7. Imagine the reaction to this proposal around February last season. People we’re legitimately in here saying we would have to attach assets to trade DG and the Jacquez riding was off the charts. Caris was playing some of his worst ball too. I guess Jimmy was hurt at that point but he was coming off a Finals run as the best player on his team the year prior

  8. Jimmy has a player option next year, will become an unrestricted free agent and is 35

He could walk for nothing this summer the Heat aren’t getting anything close to this for him

  9. I’ll go against the grain here and say something remotely positive about the trade…

I think this would give us a year (possibly two) to be in extreme “win now mode” (which we are already the best in the league, so take it for what it’s worth)

I think this trade would make us better for a season. JJ is a good young wing, which we need and if Butler would stay on the floor, he helps our wing problem in a big way. We still are missing a PG, so Don would have to run a three-man rotation with Ty and Craig, which may be just fine.

All in all, I think the trade could work but no way in hell am I pulling the trigger to do it. I would if Butler was 4 years younger… in a heartbeat. He is declining and DG is ascending.  That’s the big problem here.
