I know, "budget constraints," etc, but it's so frustrating to be a fan of this team during the offseason. 😭

  1. Does trading away stars count as “something”? You might get that…

Otherwise start building up some enthusiasm for (multiple) C-tier starting pitchers.

  2. We’ve already been told the payroll is not budging. Throw in the sale of the team, and I expect nothing but minimally paid roster fillers. We’ll be looking at 4th place again. Woo.

  3. Baseball is broken and needs a complete overhaul of revenue sharing, salary cap and floor. There’s never been a bigger divide between large, mid, and small market teams.

  4. Be careful what you wish for. The “something” they will do is just trading away salary.

  5. Did you really think we were getting Soto, Snell, or Fried? We’re probably gonna sign a serviceable 1B and OF and roll with our young players. Not saying I like it, but that’s Pohlad baseball.

  6. Just refuse to spend money on this team
Let the stands empty out, merchandise collapse, encourage those puke Pohlads to sell quicker then maybe the healing can begin.

  7. Never looked forward to the next Twins season with LESS optimism, excitement, or enthusiasm than I do now. Hoping for a long Wild playoff run, and great lake weather to take us to football season. Tough to even envision going to a game next year.

  8. Why can’t this team be like Tampa Bay? Winning without spending. We should be able to have the scouting and the minor league system they’ve had.

  9. They’ll do something to the tune of cutting $10M from the existing payroll. Exciting times.

  10. This front office almost never makes moves early in the offseason. You can’t make any inference on how much they will do right now.

And when the team spent a lot of money in the 2022-23 offseason and then cut payroll, you shouldn’t be surprised that they aren’t signing free agents.

  11. At this point, the only moves the Front Office will be allowed to make are those that will shed $10m from the payroll to get them back under budget.

Complaining about them not making moves is effectively complaining that they haven’t made the team worse, yet.

  12. Careful – remember what happened last year. We got saddled with the worst pinch hitter in the history of history.

  13. At this point I’m more scared that they are going to have a yard and sell off our decent assets for pennies on the dollar.

  14. Waiting for the Twins to sign a free agent right now feels about as likely as waiting for Sydney Sweeney to ask me out on a date.

Sure, it’s not impossible. But she doesn’t know who I am, and I don’t leave the house anyways. So any time or energy spent on the thought is wasted.

  15. The Pohlads want a 40-man roster of everyone making league minimum. Every cent above that is a failure to them.

They’re probably going to trade Correa and Pablo.
