Preller is a god if he can unload X and not pay most of the contract.

Its pretty interesting that we would do this. I definitely think our pitching other than cease, Tatis, and Machado are untouchable, but everyone else is on the table. The only problem is, does anyone want a Cronenworth or a Xander Bogaerts? I can only see them getting moved if we eat a lot of their contract. Maybe that’s worth being able to extend someone younger in the future? I don’t know.
X,Crone,Arraez offloads to shed salary & obtain young potential starting pitching would be ideal. Extend King and get a haul back for Cease although I feel the Padres should hold on to Dylan Cease but the price of SP is insane right now.
lol everyone wants to offload our stars so badly. Kutsenda has no intention of replacing them. we let X leave, we’re getting below level replacement players instead.
X has a full no trade clause, so he’s most likely only willing to waive it for a contending team

Those contracts are debilitating.
Prospects are lottery tickets, thinking we can unload X or any other stars for sure fire controllable assets is silly. I’ve been a fan for over 30 years, Michael King working out is the exception not the rule.
It isn’t really news. We already know Preller is a trading mad man and will listen on anything.
Preller is listening on Xander…the issue is he doesn’t hear anything.
It’s worth mentioning that every team listens to all deals all the time. This is nothing new.
Only thing certain is AJ will absolutely be making some moves.
This is a bit of a reach, but Cease in exchange for the Orioles farm or Cease and Cronenworth to the A’s for OF Lawrence Butler, C Langaliers, a top 10 pitching prospect and a top 100 prospect. I believe they’re trying to spend a bit more to get their revenue sharing $. Cease and Crone’s contract would put them at about 100 million.
I think Cease and Arraez are likely both gone. Merrill or Tati can play short if they can unload X. We can’t afford to eat much if any of the contract.
God, I hope Preller can work his dark magic and find a team to take X. Maybe package Cease and X plus some cash will get the Red Sox to bite.

I legit think Boston would be open to taking X right now. I think Bogarts wants to play there and misses hitting doubles off the Green Monster. Boston fans would be stoked too.
