[delos Santos] Adames on breaking Posey’s previous record for largest contract: “It’s crazy to me because Buster’s a Hall of Famer. I don’t even know what to tell you. I don’t want to say the wrong words and get fired the next day.”

  1. It’s comments like this that make me fully confident the organization made the right choice with Buster Posey as President of Baseball Operations.

Creating a front office with someone who understands how the decisions of the FO impact a player and their family is going to be a huge selling point to players, I believe. It’ll likely offer some greater assurances that someone higher up understands their position as players.

One of my frustrations with Zaidi was his [very apparent] lack of connection to players. He came across as cold and calculated, which is often necessary in the industry, but often to the detriment of the team and its morale. I imagine Buster will have more sympathy as someone who has been in those shoes before.

  2. I like this guy already. The rumors about him being a good teammate might be true. Let’s get this team gelling!
