2. I hope that they say no to Arenado. Go get Santander he is still out there. He will supply the needed power, RBI's and hitting for the OF. I like Brett's idea of trying to sign Profar too. I do believe that the Astros would be paying for Arenado's lesser days. The Astros have decent options at third base if Alex Bregman walks. The team's glaring weakness now is in the outfield.

3. We're tired of RISP with 1 or no outs, and Bregman striking out or popping up to third .. Bregman is tops at defense… At the plate, the last couple of years.. NO WHERE NEAR $200 MILLION

9. I respectively disagree. Players like Bregman are not content. It's not in their DNA. It's always about more and more and more. $156M after Astros already paid $100m. How much more do you need? If he really "loves" Houston, then $256m total earnings is plenty.

12. It's time to re-load, was time a year ago when you knew Tucker wasn't re-signing and you won't give Famber the money he wants as a 30+ pitcher. Then you could have gotten more for both with 2 years of control. And if you are dumping players, like we are now anyways, that is not a sign of a strong contender. The last place you want to be as a franchise is middle of the pack. It's better to be the worst team in the league so you can get the high picks. If we learned anything under Ludlow and how this team was built is its best to tank.

Arenado is going to be hard to move even if Cards do infact (likely) pay him down, I believe he has 3 more years meaning he's going to be 37-38 when his contract is over, he's still actually a fairly decent player and incredible at defense but I think the commitment of time is the issue most orgs have realistically.

14. You can't trade good prospects. You're just now getting the farm back to respectability. You need to start stockpiling prospects or else down the road it's going to be back to 100 loss seasons.

15. It’s not that the Astros don’t know what they’re doing, its that they are trying to do multiple things. They are trying to contend and build the farm system at the same time. It’s not easy but that’s how you stay a legitimate franchise

16. Arenado has said he would accept a trade to the Dodgers, Padres, Angels, Yankees, Mets and Phillies. The Astros aren’t one on the list.

24. You don’t need Nolan when you have a qualified third base already in Isaac Paredes!! What the astros desperately need is a good quality center fielder and or a right fielder!! The opponents are going to have a field day running the bases on either Meyers and McCormick!!
