7. This is the reason u can’t respect Nicks take. Dak is a franchise QB according to Nick but Purdy in Purdy’s entire career has out played Dak in Dak’s entire career. Yet Dak deserves 60 million and Purdy’s not a franchise QB. As a niners fan I don’t think Purdy’s a franchise guy either and I also don’t want to pay him over 50 million but in my mind a franchise QB is a elite player who can carry a team. There’s only about 5 to 7 of those in the entire league. A franchise QB is a guy you wouldn’t trade for anything. But that’s my opinion. Be consistent Nick as u like to claim u are but clearly are not.

19. As a 49er fan, the only thing I agree with Nick is Purdy does not deserve the max. $45-$50 a year is fair given what he has done, and what he has shown as far as potential. However, Nick who has been biased against Purdy since day 1 act and talk as if the 49ers did not have over 30+ players (many in key positions) on a rotating injury carousel. The best offensive weapon we had over a few games was a dude who got shot. But that is Nick, he loves to compare players, especially QBs as if they all had a healthy squad.

It’s not surprising in the slightest that Nick is calling purdy not talented enough to be a franchise quarterback…but it’s also just the best kind of irony that he picked the bears to be in the playoffs/Super Bowl and they were man handled like children against that same quarterback literally just one game before this one (which he also admitted purdy played well in). I just don’t consider nicks opinion as valid at this point so it’s cool that he’s still just a huge hater towards purdy, but I really like to see him in situations where he’s dead wrong

33. If Brock doesn’t deserve to be paid as tier 2, then the other 22 team QBs don’t deserve to be in the NFL. Statistically, Brock is still top 10 QBR this year and he doesn’t even have his number one WR and RB. Every tier 1 QBs will play poor without their number one WR or RB. Lamar is having a stellar season because of Henry. Joe didn’t have a stellar season until Higgin came back. CJ was awful until Collin came back. Let’s not forget the all time great Mahomes, the list goes on. Let’s not pretend weather doesn’t affect QB because in games Brock played poorly, the opposing team QB also played poorly except for Josh game. Please stop giving false narrative that this is how the team will look after paying him. 49ers already factored in paying Brock next year with the current roster. Brandon and Chris are locked in for 3 years. It is actually the opposite of your false narrative because Brock is playing without his $50 million WR and RB next year. Brock is still young and he already demonstrated he has the ability to be great with his elite processing and anticipation skills. Brock has the thrive to succeed so let’s the kid grow guys, this only his second full season.

35. 49ers roster is so good (or used to be) that can make a average QB look like an elite QB, it happened with Badoppolo (and that was a huge mistake by them, sticking to garoppolo cost them the best year of that roster)
