  1. I wasnt crazy about giving up Smith but it is still a great trade to aquire a star player this team needed. Tucker by himself makes this team a 90 win team right away. Now offer him a 12 year 450 million extension.Hand him a pen and tell him to sign it.

  2. Has anyone noticed we play the Dodgers seven times in the first month of the season? That’s exciting. We play the Mets May 9, 10, 11. Now, I can’t wait.

  3. What do you guys think of Luke Weaver as closer? I can’t see where he’s signed with anyone yet. Maybe in the deal for Bellinger. He had a pretty good year last year.

  4. The cubs according to Passan still don’t have a top 10 payroll and were about 30 million under luxury tax I don’t even think they need to trade bellinger, imagine a lineup with Belli, Suzuki, Tucker, Happ, Busch put Belli at 1B and maybe we try Busch at 3B I’d love to see it we don’t need to save money by trading bellinger i think he should only be moved it it makes the team better LETS TAKE THIS DIVISION

  5. So they signed him for one year and won't pony up the money needed to keep him. You know the Ricketts will accept a division pennant as success for another 8 years because it gets people into their Wrigleyville bars.

  6. With Tucker under control for only 1 year, the Cubs are in a win-now mode. How can they entrust 2 infield spots (3rd and 2nd, if Hoerner gets traded) to rookies? I think they have to sign or trade for another stud infielder. Before they got Tucker, I had no interest in Alonso. But now, it makes sense to me. Put Busch at 2nd and Shaw or Triantos at 3rd.

  7. I believe it was yesterday one of you gave carte blanche to Jed to move prospects, and now tonight we hear he may be moving Owen Caissie to Miami for a 120 inning guy (at best) Owen was our power hitting prospect, and now for the sake of being "seen and relevant" during the off season we will lose him. I am so glad we lit up social media during the off season. I just wish we could do it during the regular season.

I truly hope that Jed trades Bellinger before he decides to improve the pitching core. If they can't get Corbin Burnes or another number one starter go with what you have They were top 10 last year and will be better with a healthy Brown and Wicks. Besides, trades can be done after Sasaki decides which team he wants.

Oh ya, as of my count the Cubs were a better team than and 83 win team, but the Manager blew at least seven games. Five with keeping Hendricks in too long, one keeping a struggling Drew Smyly in too long, and another replacing Porter Hodge too soon.

Jed is listening to fans and podcasts and you what Billy Martin once said about listening to fans……………..

  8. We got our now ONLY top 100 Prospect. #2 or #3 rated 3B prospect. Paredes is pure pull. He is going to hit .240, but could hit 30-40 HR, good defense (a downgrade,) but maybe we do get Breggy for 1B?

  9. Years of watching Tucker: His streaks are epic, but so are his slumps. Coming off a broken shin. Less speed. Great avg. Hitter. At Wrigley, dude is gonna hit 40 HR, but Paredes at MM park can hit 40 too. Crap avg, but I think we sign Breggy for 1B. Paredes at 3B. You guys are going to see the Astros re-sign tucker in 2026.

  10. Why do we HAVE to trade Belli? Do we really think he's that bad? Wouldn't it be better to hang on to him if we're in a Win-Now situation?

We don't need more pitching. Imanaga, Steele, Assad, Taillon and Boyd is a good rotation. Yankees apparently want the Cubs to eat much more of the Belli contract than I'm happy with. Why are we all okay with dropping Assad from the rotation? Cause they won't move Boyd or Taillon.
